It seems to go back to the mentality of "why be offended by a racist/sexist/homophobic slur when I don't mean it that way".

You can edit your Facebook settings to either not accept posts to your timeline or make it so that you're the only one who can see them. You can even specifically bar certain people from posting to your profile through the "custom" setting. It'll ask you to put in friends' names who will not be allowed to post.
