I really like one-frame pauses like in Wind Waker when you hit something there's probably a right way and a wrong way to so it though

We've taken some inspiration from the mysterious "shooter" games and what this means is that every time you kill an enemy, you will get a voice clip that says "Kill confirmed!". The enemies will also throw out taunts every few seconds, drowning the player in an auditory hell.

The screen better be shaking during those 20 seconds.

Man, every time I see this thread I'm just so (patiently) stoked for this game. Any chance it's gonna come out this year or will it be pushed to 2015? There's no rush - a good game is forever. A bad game is the butt.

I hope your vidcon completion celebration will include sending an autographed* and gift-wrapped hard copy of Barkley 2 on 63 floppy disks to the man himself, Charles Barkley. Well, maybe scratch the floppies and make it a CD, we're living in the future after all. (* should probably just include a blank DIY autograph spot)

The only thing I hope happens post-launch is that there will be a plethora of really awful lets plays on youtube. EDIT: I have just been informed that DwarfNET needs to be completely operational within 2 weeks. Challenge accepted. Gortarius fucked around with this message at 09:09 on Sep 26, 2014 |

Chas McGill posted:I think DwarfNET is what I'm most looking forward to in Barkley 2. I'm very sorry for you. Anyways, back when there was some DwarfNET brainstorming going on, we (read: I) had some ideas about a DwarfTube where you could go and check out unboxing videos dwarfs made and rate them. Sadly there isn't really a good way to have video in the game, what with GMS not supporting video footage afaik, and then there is probably some cross-platform issues, file size issues, the small resolution of the game etc. A lot of poo poo stacked against it. We could, in theory, make some gifs/sprites and have a sound playback go along with it and it would probably work to some extent, but that would mean reallocating resources to do so and that sure as fudge ain't happening anytime soon. Maybe there will be a DwarTube DLC. Whenever I'm not oppressed by the producer I'm always up for working on some minigames that are completely removed from the core gameplay, so let me know if you know any good ones you would like to see. Maybe you'll find it ingame.... (most likely you wont)

Hacking minigame that's like those tubes or wires that you move/spin around. But instead of being ~real hacking~, it's a 1v1 boardgame that you play against NPC cyberjocks at the bar.

You're playing some other game, without ever leaving Barkley 2! Just another reason why ToG is ahead of their time.

Given the gun's-centric nature of Barkley 2, when asked about a minigame all I can envision is something like this bad game I played a fuckton of as a kid: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kNhbEAYYNLI The problem being that, as seen in the video, mouse controls kinda trivialize it.
