Gonna be a bit of a post-and-run, but I listen to barely half a dozen house producers with any regularity, so I was happy to find that one had recently remixed another: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PsqS5QTI9hA Not sure how to pigeonhole it, I guess it's a case of a prog tune getting the full club treatment. Bloody chuffed about it though.

Helpimscared posted:"Feed Me" is performing near me soon, is he any good? It depends on what style of music you like, really. Feed Me tends towards the electro-house and dubstep genres but has music that spans a lot of other genres as well. I would definitely recommend listening to some of his stuff first since he has a pretty distinct sound. In terms of his live performance, it was one of the coolest shows I have ever been to. His "Teeth" setup is extremely unique and the visuals were unreal. Lookup Youtube videos from his last "Teeth" tour to get an idea. Basically, if you like his music, you should absolutely go. I would still recommend going if you don't just because the live performance is really loving cool. Edit: Found a good-quality youtube video showing his live show from 2013. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NfHrOgu2Lkc MrSargent fucked around with this message at 01:23 on Aug 12, 2014 |

How was that? Two of us did. It was 100% new music with an encore of two simian songs. It wouldn't be a fair assessment to review an albums worth of music played and heard once. THAT BEING SAID what I did hear was even more removed then Unpatterns and that album was a move to techno from the pop of Temporary pleasures or even ADSR. The new music is very deliberate. The pallet of the music is limited. This may sound disconcerting, but in the dozens of DJ+Live gigs I've seen of SMD they've never disappointed. They've Released two singles (Tangent, Dervish) with a few tracks on each of them which pretty much gives you a strong ideal of where SMD is at with whorl. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u8hezMx3wfg E: I'm also totally going to go see them. incoherent fucked around with this message at 07:19 on Aug 12, 2014 |

Jaw Jam is someone I consider to be quite underrated at this time. He doesn't venture too far from his signature sound and I don't mind that one bit. A handful of his bootlegs are begging for Symbols or someone similar but as far as I can tell he's not been picked up. Future RnB(not jersey club) is a term that seems to follow him. He got a shout out from the Phantom not too long ago via twitter and Sweater Beats dropped him in his Diplo & Friends mix a while back. I expect we'll hear a lot more from him in the future. Jaw Jam - Tha One I See In My Fantasies When I'm Dreaming (Mix II) Jaw Jam - Wifey (U Are So Beautiful) Keyshia Cole - Love (Jaw Jam Real Luv Bootleg) Sweater Beats - Diplo and Friends Mix 2014 Speaking of Symbols I quite liked the latest EP from Vindata. Favorites being both versions of Bad Dreams. Vindata - ...For One To Follow EP

I came across Super Drug for the first time a few weeks ago thinking it was a new artist, but his soundcloud goes back three loving years! He's sitting right under 600 followers somehow. The bio is kinda tough to make sense of but it says he's from Croatia and has been djing/producing since 1995. For me it is simply good filter funk/disco house music at my kinda speed. There aren't a lot of vocals in his stuff but he manages to find a good enough groove to go without I think. I know a lot of people are not a fan here but I am going to see Porter Robinson's "Worlds" live show in San Francisco tonight and am super stoked. Some of the footage from his shows so far has been insane. He is playing live drums, keyboards, vocals, and only playing his originals. He also helped design all of the visual effects specifically for his music. Here is a preview video that looks really cool. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6LhOfK6n1xM Also, I saw Klingande last weekend in SF at the Independent and it was amazing. I had no idea that one of the guys actually plays live sax the entire set, it was incredible and the crowd there was so awesome, everyone was dancing and cheering the entire time. They did 2 encores before they had to shut it down. For those that like some really mellow, groovy and saxy house, definitely check them out. Below is a mix they did with Thomas Jack for his Tropical House series. https://soundcloud.com/thomasjackmusic/thomas-jack-presents-klingande-tropical-house-vol4-1 Odesza just released a new album and I find it to be a refreshingly unique electronic sound. A lot of downtempo songs with great grooves and some tasty vocals. The full album is up on soundcloud (link below). My favorite tracks right now are White Lies and All We Need. https://soundcloud.com/odesza/sets/in-return And for my last share, my gf sent me this track by a Swedish artist named Kasbo, who I had never heard of before but this track is amazing. https://soundcloud.com/k-sbo/kasbo-kaleidoscope

I was wondering why TomorrowWorld has fewer big names compared to last year. Attendance was reported at 140,000 which I think is a good, not great number. Turns out Ultra Japan is also this weekend. I'm surprised there wasn't more cooperation between festival organizers.

What would you guys say are the best electronic albums of the year? For reference, I'm not big on trance or techno. Examples of electronic I love: - M83 - Air - Boards of Canada - The Knife - Flying Lotus - Bonobo - Bibio - Daft Punk - Jazztronik - Capsule - Tycho I dunno, I'd love some more jazzy house. I'm huge on downtempo, ambient, and house, obviously. Not all kinds of house though, I'm particular for some reason. What I've been listening to lately: Josh Butler Pwndtiac Sophie Goldroom I guess I just want more of the long list above. It's been a while. I'm the only person I know who's big on electronic, so I always go to shows alone. So it's hard for me to branch out and learn new artists. Re: Porter If you have a chance to go to a stop on the Worlds Tour, do it. Definitely unique with the way he presents everything with the live mixing and the original video artwork accompanying. My only, small, critique is the moments when things are minimal and slow, they're minimal and slow for too long and a lot of energy was sapped from the crowd. I know it's "not a rave," bro, but we came to the club for your show to party.
