The 2014 Saxxy Awards are being held right now, and there's plenty of fantastic entries. Here's a few of the best. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gQNx0yvnMRQ&hd=1 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Px_FmSYHSWo&hd=1 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nMduKamFEAQ&hd=1 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4FLh4Kabnmw&hd=1 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O-_6iqTxwYc&hd=1 The level of quality this year has shot through the roof, with multiple entries using actually good voice acting in addition to outstanding visuals.

http://youtu.be/tppbrfOphxQ?list=UU7ASQuK1r9P_Y1GAjpZ25ig There's a pretty awesome apartment building in downtown South Bend that was built as a high school in the 20's. The classrooms have all been renovated into beautiful apartments with a *lot* of character, all walking distance from DTSB. One of the apartments in the middle of the building used to be a swimming pool, so it's all open space with a deep end and a shallow end. It's all carpeted, there's couches and chairs, and they hold underground living room concerts and film screenings an' poo poo. I filmed this there, a couple weeks ago. Check out the venue, the crowd, and the band. It starts with the finale, then goes through their encore. You could hear a pin drop in this room. I'm new to taking video, but if y'all like my style I'll start posting more.

This was not what I expected when I searched for the Pease Pudding rhyme. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xzBTOVn6xh8 I find it kind of creepy in the minor scale but its totally awesome in that regard. There should be more western music redone in minor scale just for the weird factor. edit: oh gently caress that channel is all like that Shaocaholica fucked around with this message at 23:03 on Sep 30, 2014 |

I get that there are a lot of cultures that are based on minor scale but its not like you have to change something from one to the other to get people to sing it.

Maybe it sounds as weird to them without as it does to us with? Maybe they're trying to do a little lite-cultural-adjustment of the songs? I honestly can't say because I have no idea who they're targeting. But if they're targeting, say, Indians, with the goal of teaching their kids english, doing it in a more expected way would help, so that might make sense.

Cracked brought this to my attention. Who remembers Balloon Boy? If you don't, there's a wikipedia link for you. Apparently while we weren't paying attention, the lovely dad has been forcing his kids to perform as a loving metal band and sing songs about Warcraft and fingering as yet another attempt to get famous on the back of his children. But it's nice to see he's moved past that whole "Balloon Boy" thing and- wait nope here's their latest song BALLOON BOY NO HOAX http://youtu.be/JVbV_Sis99o
