Does anyone know how much WotC talks with their translation teams? On one hand, you'd think that would be somewhat tight, since it seems pretty easy to do. But on the other hand, you have the Japanese noble/aristocrat nonsense back from INN/DKA.

I ask because never in my life have I heard anyone pronounce the Gatecrash Planeswalker's name rah-de, but the Japanese indicates there are two syllables there. I've always heard one syllable, like "raid." People seem to be split on "dome-ree" vs. "dahm-ree", but for some reason I don't care as much about that.

THE RESERVED LIST! THE RESERVED LIST! I CANNOT SHUT UP ABOUT THE RESERVED LIST!
I think I get what he's saying, which is that losing a hundred pounds or eating healthy (or whatever) isn't going to suddenly make you a steely-minded Magic player and that if you want to focus on one thing, it's better (for Magic purposes) to live on bags of Cheetos and practice the poo poo out of Magic, rather than the opposite. He even acknowledges that fitness and health are very desirable for their own sake.

That said, I'm confused as to why he felt it necessary to mention this at all. He alludes to some "widespread" idea about fitness being related to Magic success, but I can't say I've ever encountered it before. The entire section of the article is completely out of left field.

I think he had a pretty good partial point about trying too hard to astroturf the clan names. I mean, I think a lot of decks going forward are going to be called Sultai whatever and that's not necessarily worth railing against, but saying that Justin Gary played "Sultai Oath" in 2002 just sounds ridiculous, like the Magic equivalent of Mormon posthumous baptism.

Greatness at any weight.

Honestly, I think he might be doing a disservice to the community by making this straw-man argument. Yes, we all know that literally doing 20 push-ups doesn't make you better at deckbuilding. No one is positing that.
What people are saying is that trading in your health for a marginal increase in skill in a hobby about magical wizards isn't good, and you should work to balance your health with your sedentary hobby.

They actually did increase the number of Uncommons in each set with M15, so your odds of opening a particular one in a given pack are slightly lower. $3.99 for an in-print uncommon is still stupid though.

It's been since Zen block that a box has had enough goodness to get me to crack one and my first Ktk box was awesome (1 of each fetch and 10-12 $5+ cards) but what's up 1 Hordeling outburst buddy. My foil UC was a Mardu charm and my foil rare was McDurdle, with non foil Mcdurdle :/. At $105 though it was still mad money though and for the moment it's not a bad deal. I am going to try and trade away all my rares for fetches before the bottom drops out on $7 mantis riders and such.

I think it's hilarious in a "look at that :spergin: dork" kinda way. Sure, BUG and RUG have been around forever, but RWU has been "America" since its inception too. Throwing a hissy fit over deck naming is minuscule at best and sounds like the kind of thing I'd expect someone who gets mad about being offered a handshake to bitch about.
