Unless maybe you're growing an adorable little single plant - but even that requires far more light than your typical headlight.

I work for a bunch of dealerships and the most expensive headlight assembly I've seen so far was $1700. I think it was for a fancy Audi. $1300-$1400 is pretty common though.

They're probably worn out from all the rainbow parties, and after all they've only got one kidney.
With all that and the jenkem benders, they're probably pretty pooped, and not thinking very well at all.

Seems like that's the durability you'd want on something like that anyhow. Less liability/chance of actually hurting anything.

To be fair most of those cars scrapped were probably shitboxes anyway, but no doubt there were a fair few nice motors or ones that couldve been with a small bit of work.

I agree. Even though the cars had to have a good MoT status when they were scrapped, a lot of things can happen in the timeframe from the MoT to the scrapping - sudden mechanical failures, crashes, etc. that would cause it to fail its next yearly check-up.

You would think with the large greenhouse/beltline (compared to a compact sedan), small engine, and battery pack in the back it would have a better weight distribution. I guess not.

I had a friend who got £3000 off a new suzuki sx4 for scrapping his corsa, he is a terrible driver and until I asked him about it wasnt serviced for about 60,000 miles. This thing somehow managed to scrape past MOT for several years somehow and it was a complete shitter. One of the rear wheels fell off after he got some poo poo mechanic to replace the wheelbearings, the oil pressure sensor came loose causing hot oil to hit the exhaust manifold causing a massive smokeshow and countless other things i cant remember.

A few months ago he rolled the SX4 on the motorway doing stupid speeds in the wet trying to overtake a load of cars in the most reckless way possible, somehow managing to not crash into any barriers or other cars luckily. I'm kind of glad he doesnt have a car now tbh.

I've never understood that negotiation tactic. It's sort of like when they ask you "what were you making in your last job?" during a job interview.

Granted, I haven't had much luck on negotiating on the spot either.

Making an actual number offer and being prepared to provide reasons as to why you think your offer is valid. Of course, be aware that those craigslist fools can exist on both sides of the sale. Try to avoid dipshits that have an unreasonable price and are very insistent on "NO LOWBALLZ! PRICE IS SET IN STONE!".

Be better informed than the seller, and be willing to walk away if they give you a hard time. Getting a good deal definitely requires a lot of work, especially in an age where anyone can google a thing and get its "true value," which somehow transforms the average owner into a haggler supreme.

Show up with a fist full of money. Have a price you want to pay. Know more than the seller. Point out some flaws that weren't mentioned. Well I only brought X much.

This is where you have extra money in an other pocket and you can dicker until you are either happy with the price, or go home.
