For Zant, mash on the combo finisher button to keep the combo going until his bar is full. Don't go past the end of the bar or you'll be stunned and the bar will empty. BY and BBY don't feel that good for me, but BBBY is AMAZING for clearing large groups and can get stronger things like lizalfos and shield moblins caught up in it too. BBBBY and BBBBBY do good damage to strong enemies if you can pull it off without being interrupted. When the bar is full, press strong attack to go into full crazy mode. Now you can mash light attack to spin around like a lunatic - also great for clearing entire rooms - or mash strong attack to rapid-fire magic bullets at a single target.

MarquiseMindfang posted:Can someone give me a how-to-Zant and how-to-Ghirahim because they're really not clicking for me. Ghirahim is functionally a ranged character. His basic combo works from the full screen away, and nearly all of his moves either teleport him around the field to hit enemies that were far away or have projectiles zip in/out from the distance instead. BBBYYY is one of his better moves, it spawns a group of shadow moblin that will rush forward and start killing/collecting anything in their path. His special attack is an AOE directly in front of him, so it works well as a starter instead of a finisher for keep-clearing since all of his other attacks will reach even further. His strong attack is a "string of fate", lock on to a target and use the attack. It makes your next series of strong attacks seek out and home whatever you're attached to, use it for long-range weakpoint smashing. Also, be sure to dash after the end of an attack, as it will cancel any of his flourish animations. Emalde fucked around with this message at 16:32 on Oct 2, 2014 |

Also, if you get several stronger enemies caught up in Zant's spin or BBBY, it'll end with them perfectly positioned for his special, which is probably already charged from all those mooks you just killed. Edit: you might have to run forward a bit after the BBBY, but they'll be clustered together is what I meant Suaimhneas fucked around with this message at 16:42 on Oct 2, 2014 |

I wish when you unlocked a character in adventure mode there was an immediate normal keep capturing mission to practice with them. It's hard to get the feel for a new character on the more gimmicky ones. I guess I should just suck it up and practice on free play with Agitha and Ruto.

So figured out how the summoning gate works. It's pretty neat but the fact it's slow and RNG based damages its usefulness super hard YX - Dodongo, a mini one hops out and rolls forward YYX - Manhandla, a sprout will pop up and wiggle around hurting anything near it. Junk. YYYX - Ghoma, tiny Ghoma pops out and tackles whatever is in front of it and does a spin YYYYX - Argarok, shows up and spins around in place spewing fire. None of these are terribly impressive outside the plant but if you hit X you'll summon a random boss to do another attack, you then start glowing and if you use one of the above combos it improves it (but only if you summon the same monster) YX - 3 dodongo's appear, roar and shoot a 3 way fire ball shot that clears a wave in front of them YYX- Manhandla sprouts up in the middle and does it's normal thing, then when it's over two more pop up and Lana slowly walks forward with them while beating up everything in front of her. YYYX - I seriously can't get Ghoma to pop back out after figuring this out so will edit it in later if requested. YYYYX - Lana hops onto the back of Argarok and shoots a fire ball or two while flying around and then suicide bombs it I think that's everything?

Gohma's upgraded special summons 2 of them either side like the Dodongo, and they do a sweeping conal laser in front of each of them.

After using deku stick Lana a bit more, I think I'd like her more if they swapped the slingshot with her noncombo strong attack. I think she still has a lot of crummy attacks, though.

I used quite a bit of spear Lana last night and I think it's... okay? Overall it's pretty sluggish but it has some good crowd clearing abilities in her standard attack combo and in YYYYX (I think? It's the one where she pulls out the leaf and blows everyone away.). My biggest complaint is the special on it is just so underwhelming it's not fun to use.

Yeah, the special is kind of cool visually but it seems like it takes forever to go away. If they cut out Lana patting the tree (???) then it would be way more bearable to me.

I'm not entirely sure what the exact effects are, but at the very least it makes weak point gauges go down a lot faster.

The summoning gate overall is really gimmicky, but if you get it figured out it's REALLY strong. On the mission to unlock the tier 2 version, I ran in to the second commander expecting a long fight. Poked him a few times and then I got the powered up Argorok summon which took the commander from 80% to nothing in about three seconds.

Well Agitha just surprised the hell out of me. The Imprisoned is usually an unfun slog no matter who I play as, but Agitha mauled the poo poo out of it. Gave her a weapon with Strong Attack+ and Strength V which powers up her beetle charge combo, giving her the ability to kill all the Imprisoned's toes as soon as he finishes regenerating them without using Special. She's not exactly super speedy at breaking the weak point, but using XXY, dodge, repeat kept it down to 2 cycles per weak break. So far I'd thought that she's pretty lackluster, but taking care of the shittiest boss in the game so handily makes her a-ok in my book. Now someone tell me how to fight it as Zant because god drat.

I think The Imprisoned's weak point gauge takes 2 rounds no matter how strong you are. Against Giant Bosses, Agitha's YYYX > (air)X > YYY > X absolutely wrecks their faces because they can't avoid the iffy hitboxes on the aerial hits.

Still works even in the patched NA version. Can't get it to work with anything but the Master Sword and Gauntlets on Lana, Zelda, and Impa though. I wanted Lana's book on Zelda. The novelty of watching Lana or Zelda make that stupid wide-open mouth when she flips the world is pretty great though!

Iiiiiiiit oh right I didn't post it in this thread. It's actually kinda complicated and requires a second controller. - So P1 chooses the 'skin' character that they want to run around as and just clicks through their weapon list. - P2 chooses the character and moveset P1 actually wants to use (again, only seems to work with the Master Sword, Gauntlets, and probably Lana's Summoning Gate but I haven't gotten it yet) - Upon reaching P2's weapon selection list, hit B until it goes back to P1. - P1 backs out with B one more screen. - If you did it right the 'skin' character's weapon list won't have anything highlighted and you can faintly see the text of the moveset you selected below it. Hit A. - flip the world with princess zelda I've seen some people saying they got it to work with Zelda using Lana's book and there's a picture of the Japanese version of Ganondorf using Agitha's umbrella but I haven't had any luck with either of those, so either those have been patched or you need to do something different. Shadowlyger posted:What does it do with the victory scene when you do that? Victory scenes don't happen in 2-player mode and it only works in 2-player mode, so yeah.

So the fight with monster Ganon. Is something supposed to happen in this fight? I destroyed a tusk and a gauntlet using hookshot + bow then he just used fireball, horn machine gun and spin forever. I couldn't figure out how to hurt him and eventually lost because of lightning bolts striking the castle. What am I supposed to do against him? Did the game just bug out and make it so I could only do lovely amounts of chip damage to him? over 15 minutes I managed to remove about 1/4 of his health. Edit: It helps if you read the text you arnt reading because you are dodging fireballs Theswarms fucked around with this message at 20:08 on Oct 2, 2014 |

Yeh I missed the key "use all the items" text. I keep missing text boxes in this game because no-one is saying anything just making noises. Trained myself to listen to voices for objectives in all DW games.

I hate any adventure mode mission that requires you to fight a giant boss. No, go ahead Manhandla, keep using your stupid poison fart and tantrum attacks.
