If you run PSO2 through Steam, does the overlay work to the extent that you can take screenshots with F12? I've been trying various programs to map printscreen to my controller and it appears to be a special key that software like that can't access, but I assume F12 is not.

Pretty much anything you add to Steam as a non-steam game and then boot from the interface will have the overlay. There's no reason it shouldn't work unless you're launching it through Tweaker, because you would be launching Tweaker through Steam and not PSO2.

Yeah, that'll work fine. I used to do that and had it bound to backslash. On some systems Steam and GameGuard don't play nice, which is pretty much par for the course with that piece of poo poo.

So, as I'm nearing 70 on my main class, I'm becoming aware that at some point I should start throwing millions at Dudu and actually make some decent armor; are there any guides for this, or at suggestions for abilities to save and fuse over?

You have to boot it with a flag and environment variable. Dunno if it's changed since it was introduced in Ep2, butcode:

As for your mag, change devices change it to a specific look (like the Red Puyo), then a change pass will give you a single change to something it's already been, though it seems that the third evolution form isn't on that list, and costs a fistfull of AC items to get ahold of.

It kind of a complicated topic, and there are various conflicting opinions on what to do, but as far as basic rules of thumb: Set effects=Good Built-in Strike/Ranged Resistance=Good Built-in HP/PP=Good Which ones you want to use depend a lot on your build and budget, but anything from SH with the three above will get the job done. If you can't buy 10 star units from the shop, then hope you get lucky when Loser shows up, because otherwise they're a pain in the rear end to farm. Loser units are a solid option for pretty much anyone. Affixing is much simpler. Unless you're a high roller, then you'll probably just want to shoot for your boss soul of choice and ATK Stat 3. Spirita 3 is also nice to have if you can afford to go to 3 slots, and Stamina 3 is decent if you're really flimsy. Some dudes rock crazy 6 slot units, but it's not really worth what it costs unless you're a whale.

Namegid is a little different from most techs in that once you have started casting it, switching targets will not move the in-progress Namegid to the new target. Before you start charging though, go for it. If you use a controller, right stick moves the target. Regarding Steam overlay, be forewarned that for some people it will just refuse to work, even if you set it up correctly. It worked fine on my old computer, but on my new one, GameGuard won't even allow me to launch the game through Steam.

From left to right on a panel, it's Base Item To Be Affixed, Fodder 1 and Fodder 2. Just drag and drop from the list on the left to item you want it on. There's an option at the very bottom of the list for Junk which is any stat you're going to replace. The simulator will tell you the % chance of success and the % above the DUDU IT! button is the overall chance of everything successfully affixing. It's helpful to gauge what's good to affix with what, before you commit to it in game and flush millions of mesetos down the Dudu toilet.

I'm thinking about putting together a newbies guide to getting started in pso2, basically all of the stuff I wish I had known a month ago (like that there's a set I could have been using from almost day 1 that you get off the EP3 matter board, which is nearly as good as end game gear). Particularly since most of the guides out there (like a good number of the ones on Bumped.org) for basic things are way out of date, that said a lot of the guides on Bumped are still quite decent and could probably use links in the OP. But I was wondering if people would want to write up some short guides on stuff I don't really know fully myself, such as the secrets of each time attack quest, what the various EQs are about and what you can get out of them that makes them worth doing (and which to use which boosts on), and some really basic cookie cutter builds for each class wouldn't go awry either (I only really have experience with ranger, and hunter to a lesser extent.) I guess they aren't nearly as complicated, but some quick rundowns of what you do in Advance and Extreme quests could be nice too. In any case the Guides section of the op is severely lacking.

I could help put together some guides and advice for Force and Techer. I've got plenty of experience with nuker Force and buffer Techer, but somebody else would have to give input on a wand bonk build. In other news, I participated in a Gigur Gunne-Gam rare trigger party last night. 16 runs and way too many tickets later and not a single unit to my name

I had a quick look at the EP3 matter board and didn't see anything particularly impressive amongst the drops. Is it a drop off a story mission, or something like that? Anyway, I just started this game a few days ago, and in case there are any other goons considering the plunge, here's what I've learned thus far. -You switch subpalettes (which are your action bars) by opening your main palette (which is your weapon select) and then using your subpalette select. This is important if you want to use more than 10+3 abilities. -You change blocks by running into the green teleporters. Blocks are lobbies where like-minded people hang out (theoretically, anyway). This is mostly important in forming a party when emergency quests come up, nobody is going to join you if you start a normal quest in a "Super Hard" block. -Emergency quests happen every few hours on the hour. You absolutely want a party for these. I haven't really figured out what's going on in these, because most of the time I just tag along and blast spells at random bits of the enemy. -Sometime around level 15 the game will point you towards crafting. "Extend Equipment" is pretty useful, it's been turning 200 T-Atk sticks into 500 T-Atk sticks. You need to take apart rare items for materials, though. -Respeccing both your class skills and your pet robot take Actual Cash and so it is advisable not to gently caress it up. I use this class guide because the pictures are easy to understand. http://www.pso-world.com/forums/showthread.php?t=221527 Hope this helps! This is actually a really fun game.

Ep3-ch 1 is obviously the start of a new episode, but keep in mind you have access to it from the very start. Since it's accessible from the start, it's definitely geared towards lower level players. Since ep 2 can only be accessed after ep1, the rewards are much more better than in ep 1. Also keep in mind that affix fodder is just as good as any other reward in the matterboards.

I'm talking about this it is the best general use set you will get short of endgame SH/EQ bosses and the like, and you can get and use it within the first 20 levels, I'm relatively sure it's the only units on the EP3 matter board and it comes with decent enough affixes on each piece. You might be confused because the set bonuses wouldn't show up, but once you are wearing all of the pieces you get 60 to all attack stats, 80 dex, and 25 pp, which is pretty significant. It's a baby version of the set you can get from SH gunne-gam (the thing people are clamoring to get in a trigger run for), the only difference being the defense stats and the equip requirements and a little less Hp (and maybe more pp accoding to cirnop?). Other than that the rifle you get at the very end is decent, but takes something like 300 dex to equip which is double what the units take. The episode 3 units give 5 PP each when you have them equipped, plus 10 for having all three. Gigur Gunne-gam's units give 0 PP each, but 25 for having all three. What this means is if you're an absolute maniac PP cultist who hates having defense stats, you can extend Gunne-gam's units to get even more PP.

Is Braver the new hot sub for it or is it something else, and are there any particularly stellar bossing PAs or general use ones I should keep an eye on, like Satellite Cannon/Divine Launcher? Since the ep 3 changes a lot of their PAs seem pretty decent but I have very little frame of reference since like I said, barely actually played the class so it's hard to tell.
