So all of these cards in Khans spiking can't be sustainable, right? Most sets have a few breakout stars that spike pretty early and stay there but I'm amazed at the sheer number of cards and decks that are finding success across multiple formats.

I don't see how BU control can consistently beat a burn heavy Jeskai.

YourHumbleMessiah posted:I believe we just saw the dream. Holy poo poo. Ahahaha that shot was so good. Shakes hand, shouts to the sky, jumps out of seat-chair falls over. Camera zooms out to show chair on ground, opponent sitting bewildered. Maybe 5 seconds pass by and an attendant hesitantly picks the chair up.

I've never watched a Pro Tour before, how are tiebreakers determined?

YorexTheMad posted:I've never watched a Pro Tour before, how are tiebreakers determined? 1st tiebreaker (and usually the only one that matters) is your opponents' win percentages. So basically if you have the same record as another player, you beat the other player if your opponents did better than the other player's opponents. EDIT: The 2nd tiebreaker is your own game win percentage, and then 3rd is opponent game win percentages. I believe the obscure final tiebreaker, that I once heard of being used in a 2HG prerelease event (where game win % is meaningless due to 1 game matches, making this situation more plausible) is literally registration order. So make sure you register really early for 2HG events ! ShadeofBlue fucked around with this message at 07:03 on Oct 12, 2014 |

YorexTheMad posted:I've never watched a Pro Tour before, how are tiebreakers determined? Same as other MTG tournaments, in order: OMW% (opponent's match win percentage, i.e. how good were the opponents you played), GW% (game win percentage), OGW% (opponent's game win percentage). 99% of the time only OMW% matters.

MiddleEastBeast posted:I totally missed it, what was the play that put Lee in top 8? On the final turn before he dies to attackers (at one life, turning off any fetches or Mana Confluence), he top decks a Jeskai Ascendancy, then draws into that discard 1, draw 2 red spell, that draws into a Dig Through Time, that draws into the win.
