I hope they nip the power creep in the bud.

Just have a whole episode where Wally beats the rogue of the week in the first 20 minutes but exerted himself so quickly he starts to fade/waste away/vibrate uncontrollably and has to deal with it for the rest of the episode.

It at least sets up the cause of the headline from the end of the pilot while also setting an upper-limit and consequences to going too fast.

I think that could work, also clearly establish that the "speed" is something which has to be activated. If he's just living his normal life, some random person could knock him out if they hit him from a blind spot. He has to see something coming to be able to act on it.

Like the spilled food tray in the pilot. If he sees it, he can act on it. If he wasn't looking in that direction, it would hit the floor. We need to see an example of the latter to get it into the audience's mind early in the series run. Also establish that for future writers.

The closest we've had to such a scene so far, I believe, is when the car explodes behind Barry. At first, he reacts to it in real time, and its only with the car already hurtling towards him that he realises to get out of the way. So there's at least some indication of 'on/off', as it were.

The lighting bolt gave him abs, but does he have even slightly enhanced strength? Seems like he's able to pick up people easier than a normal person, even a fast-as-gently caress person.

From the tie-in comic (which we can talk about in this thread since it's directly related).

Stylized art by a lower tier artist. It's a weekly digital comic tie-in for a TV show, they're not going to put a top tier artist on the book.

I kinda hope to see them address the downsides of Super Speed on the show. When they did it from Clark's POV on Smallville, the world was at a standstill, and then they'd do these zooming shots of him running to Metropolis or South America - except from his perspective, that'd feel exactly like running a thousand miles at normal speed. It'd drive you crazy and take days or months at relative perspective. In the Pilot for The Flash, when he was bouncing down the alley, it looked like things were going too fast for him to process, though later they have the traditional slow down effects. I'd actually like to see someone hang a lantern on it at some point.

Just watched the pilot ep, and I have to say I really like what the writers are doing with the Friend-Zone angle. There is definitely some fertile ground to be tread with the "Fastest Man Alive" and "Nice Guys Finish last" dichotomy.

The whole learning to use powers arc is going to be good. I wonder if the show is going to move at Arrow's breakneck (ha!) speed though.

Yea, that was pretty awesome.

One of the things i like in comics is when they point out using superhuman powers requires them to eat way more than normal people.
