TheBigBudgetSequel posted:I am so pissed Gotham isn't Gotham Central. Donal Logue is such a good Harvey Bullock and most of the cast are terrific. I got really excitied when they had Renee Montoya show up, but of course, the show is clearly not going to be good. Just chiming in to say I caught the first couple episodes of Gotham as WB has been pimping it hard and it was loving garbage. Totally uninspired, paint-by-numbers superhero cliche. And check out this girl who runs on rooftops to steal and feed milk to cats! Did you wonder who SHE might be?? She's tailing Bruce, we're not sure if you saw that. Let's show her six times just to be sure. Also Jada Pinkett Smith is the villain! What a bold decision. Let's have her kiss the bad cop because he has the Tao of Dry Heave.

You forgot the part where young catwoman refers to herself as "cat" and repeatedly insists that people call her a "cat" and also the actress looks like a cat and that is mentioned repeatedly. But on the bright side, Richard Kind is hiding in there

Trailer for The Look of Silence, the followup to The Act of Killing, which you should really see. Like, really. One of the best documentaries I've ever seen and it's giving me goosebumps just thinking about it right now. http://youtu.be/aA_ZHAs4M9k

Had no idea Oppenheimer was making a follow up but I'm glad he managed to actually complete his original plan of interviewing the victims and their families. I can't wait to see this.

I guess that's what he's known for these days, but I still think of him as the young guy in Stargate and Sex Lies and Videotape. This is what gets me about Avengers (and comic movies in general). Whenever people complain about them, I don't understand how you can grade it on any level but spectacle. Now, if you think it sucked on that level, fair enough.

I was able to see this a month ago, while Act was spellbinding, Look was terrifying and makes you even more uncomfortable than Act. It's fantastic but also a different sort of movie. It doesn't have that kind of subversiveness that Act did - using the vehicle of drama to make the culprits tell their own story. It was so tense that I thought it had only been 30 minutes when it ended. Also like Act it had some beautiful scenic cinematography.
