A random late night interest surf led me to this woman's book; she's chairman of her history department at a uni in the American South now, and she's 20 years older than me, but just reading an excerpt from her book on Google books brought me to tears -- there's literally no one I know from that time in my life I can talk about living there and it's frequently a setting when I dream, so this was like finding a long-lost relative or something.
