Either your Euro prices for Bayonetta (2) are wrong, or buying them both adds up to a different price depending on which one you buy first (55€ vs. 60€). It works out in GBP.

Yeah, I know it didn't start in the US, but I've definitely seen people on here from Aus, England, Ireland and other countries talk about how they wish they had it because it looks fun. I just extrapolated from that because I know that the Jack-o-lantern was an Irish invention.

We definitely have Halloween in the UK, including trick or treating. It's a bit different (mostly scary costumes rather than just dressing as anything) and not as big, but we have it.

They kind of have it in Japan in that they know it's a thing, there's a few events/special foods like spooky editions of donuts and you can buy decorations, but they don't go trick or treating and people would only dress up if there was a party. It's still seen as a bit of a western thing.

Again, this isn't the kickstarter game (Half-Genie Hero), this is one they've had in the works since before the kickstarter. A lot of people seem confused by that, so they clearly didn't do a good job explaining which game is which.

The Wii U version of this game (Pirate's Curse) is pretty much just the 3DS version upscaled, they're not doing anything fancy with it aside from HD character portraits.

The kickstarter game is coming to pretty much everything except for 3DS.

I am the morning sun, come to vanquish this horrible night!
Played a fair bit of Shantae and the Pirates Curse today. Just finished the 3rd island.
I'm really enjoying it, a lot more than the first game, or Risky's Revenge.
I've put in a little over 4 hours and the save screen says I'm at 55%. Which has already made it a decent length longer than Risky.

The game is gorgeous, all the areas look great and the characters and enemies are nice and fluid. The complaints I've seen around the Internet about the large amounts of fan service in the game are definitely valid. It's pretty harmless. But there is a lot more fan service in this game compared to other wayforward games.

By biggest complaint (and one I know I had for Risky's, but it didn't feel as bad as in this one) is that Shantae has very few invincibility frames. And that doesn't necessarily make things "difficult" per se, but very frustrating.
Between that and the knock back from some attacks, you end up taking way more damage than you should. The 3rd dungeon boss was way more frustrating than he should have been. Due to his attack where he quickly rushes around the arena a couple times. I got hit, knocked to the ground and before I could recover he was on top of me again which caused another hit. I ended up having to use a healing item in that fight because it happened twice more, but the fight wasn't even that hard.
I suppose it's balanced out by enemies also having no invincibility frames, so you can demolish them with fast attacks.

But it's more Shantae. It's fun metroidvania action with a rad Virt soundtrack. Each new powerup gives you a reason to backtrack to the other islands in search of collectables. And looks like it's about a solid 8 hours or so.
It's a great game, but I can see the $20 price tag turning some people away. Anyone who liked the GBC Shantae, or Risky's Revenge should absolutely pick it up though.
I am looking forward to Half-Genie Hero a ton.

I finished the game a little while ago. Logged a little under 8 hours with some of that trying to find the rest of the Heart Squids. I love that a lot of the items you collect to progress need to be used in conjunction with each other in later portions of the game, and no item gets obsoleted or is only necessary for one dungeon and then never used again. The bosses never really do get difficult, however, as they all have easy-to-exploit patterns you can figure out after about thirty seconds or so. It's definitely a larger and better game overall than Risky's Revenge, and I already enjoyed that game despite its length and rushed feel.

On the topic of themes though, is there any rhyme or rhythm to when they are released world wide? There are already so many themes I'd gladly throw my :10bux: at, but in Norway (which may be behind Europe schedule since we're not properly affiliated) we seem to get things way later. Is there the usual Japan -> [x weeks] -> USA -> [x weeks] -> EU time for those as well?

That said, I did get the Halloween cat theme in the mail, and I'm definitely not part of Club Nintendo since :norway: doesn't get it. Why won't you love us properly, Nintendo?

SMT4! loving finally.

Stealth Inc. 2 is a Wii U-exclusive sequel to Stealth Bastard/Stealth Inc. and they've changed/added a lot of stuff for the sequel: it's a metroidvania now, it has local co-op, a level editor that uses the gamepad, level sharing through Miiverse, etc. Looks well worth the money.

Falling Skies is a shameless XCOM ripoff, based on some sci-fi show I've never seen, but I hear it's pretty awful.

Wii U dudes, note that DKC3 is the 60HZ version, even though last week's release was 50HZ. Who the hell makes these decisions? Who cares, DEVIL WORLD

(DKC1/2/3 are back on the Wii VC, too, for those who have Wii Shop Channel points to burn and/or don't own a Wii U.)
