I wonder if that building is based on something.
That little point at the top is pretty distinct, though it's otherwise pretty normal looking. Besides the giant hairdo, anyway.

If it were based on a real building, I'd expect it to be the ugliest, most nightmarish building in all Birmingham. And it's not the Bullring's cancerous growth known as Selfridges.

Seriously, look at this scaly cyclops with a trunk. Is it not worse than anything Giger could have designed? Will it not deny you sleep until you've drowned memory of this dreadful vision in enough alcohol?

Wow, that is grotesque. It's like someone went out of their way to make it as ugly as possible. What's with all those metal plates? I bet that thing gets hot during the day. And blinding.

Yeah it's the Birmingham Selfridges. The worst part of this building is how jarring it looks next to the old-timey church of St Martin.

Yeah. See the BOK center in Tulsa, OK. Opened in 2008.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BOK_Center

In the late afternoon, the building's shine is blinding. There's a highway just west of the place, and passing the BOK center at the wrong time of day is painful to the eyes.

It wasn't that bad, there's a really nice little cafe/coffee shop next to the train station where you can sit in the basement for 4 hours and they don't care and... The whole airport/train station all-in-one thing is quite nice? I guess? It was a cheap week away with friends I don't get to meet otherwise.
