Honestly, a lot of the wedding traditions are stupid and this is kind of great because it's just so dumb and memorable. My fiance and I are not having a wedding cake either, but instead are going to have a wheel of Ossau-Iraty cheese, with a smaller wheel of fourme d'ambert on top of that, with an even smaller wheel of Gevrik on top of that. This couple may have a cake as well or they may just be going with a cheap joke thing because who really cares about wedding cake. I find this one hilarious because it's just so dumb; a god drat ketchup fountain, it's so incredible.

Present posted:Wait, why is there a recycling building there? Is recycling unchristian? And hiking? There are some Christians that believe god made the world for us to use and exploit, and that the notion that we could destroy the world through neglect and wasteful practices means He made a mistake and we lowly humans are powerful enough to ruin His plans. It's heretical to want to recycle soda cans or use lower-emission cars or ask companies to not dump toxic chemicals into lakes and poo poo because that means we're showing God we think he hosed up. Some people are really loving stupid. That isn't very funny though. Animation errors can be funny.

Present posted:Wait, why is there a recycling building there? Is recycling unchristian? And hiking? Recycling is unchristian because it's liberal. If you want to do one bad thing, you want to do all bad things, and all the things you do are bad. Look at one of the Conservapedia Look, liberalism is the opposite of conservatism. Conservatives are Christians and believe in the concept of a moral good, therefore liberals don't believe in moral goodness and are evil. Gay rights are generally believed in by liberals. Liberals are people who want the government to do a thing, just like Communists. Since the Holocaust was carried out by the German government, this means they were also liberals, and every government program, from the FDA to Medicaid to paved roads, is a possible precursor to a new Holocaust. Since environmentalists often advocate for regulations, they're just like Nazis and Communists seizing the property of rich people. Not only that, culture in Nazi Germany involved a lot of rhetoric about returning to some idyllic pastoral life. This demonstrates that modern hippies are direct descendents of Nazis. Now, since we've demonstrated that environmentalism is a position held by evil liberals, it follows that conservatives (who are obviously all Christians) must oppose it. It's so simple, even an insane idiot can understand.

So you have to justify to yourself and your primarily Christian voters that gluttonous consumption of fossil fuels isn't wrong. The Republican Party and conservative Christians have been intertwined for so long that not only have the Christian contempt for gays and women who have sex become policy, but also Republican positions on big government and the environment and the social safety net have wormed their way into church dogma.

Nope! quote:In a 1974 case, Timothy O'Bryan, an 8-year-old boy from Deer Park, Texas, died after eating a cyanide-laced package of Pixy Stix. A subsequent police investigation eventually determined that the poisoned candy had been planted in his trick-or-treat pile by the boy's father, Ronald Clark O'Bryan, who also gave out poisoned candy to other children in an attempt to cover up the murder. The murderer, who had wanted to claim life insurance money, was executed in 1984

Which is odd since socialist and communist countries are some of the worst polluters. There's also this idea that no one should tell a red blooded American man what to do. I remember back in, I think 2004, talk show host Sean Hannity went on multiple rants about his right to drive really big trucks. Conservative politics are often focused on the individual, so the idea of consuming less for a collective good is likened to wiping your rear end on Old Glory. It's not that way everywhere though. I live in a red part of a red state and we've got a great recycling program (they even take steel!).

The catch being that you have to haul it there yourself and it is pennies per pound, so you need a whole car full of stuff to make it worth the trip. Right wingers aren't actually opposed to scrap recycling, they just think it should be voluntary and for profit, not something imposed by government.
