I'm not entirely sure how to interpret this. I'd like to think Adams is making a nice point about how the highest honour we can give our soldiers is not making them work in a warzone anymore, but it looks more likely that he's proposing we keep British soldiers in said warzone indefinitely for the sole purpose of keeping them employed. Unless there's some story about mass layoffs in the Army that I've missed.

That was my exact first thought. It's not like the L85A2 isn't a ubiquitous part of the British Armed Forces or anything... I think it's only the SAS which use the M16 styled variants or other manufacturers weapons as main rifles if I recall correctly.

Its time for a whip round to take Thomas to london, so he can see that London does not exist in a valley, inhabit an area of approx a mile, and realise some perspective. QE Tower on the house of Commons is not bigger than the Gherkin, and I'm not sure what Il Duomo is doing in London as opposed to Florence where it normally lives. If there is any money left over, we can by him some new brown crayons so he can draw people like he really wants to.

That Collins is kind of apt, coming straight after another of Thomas' "40 Days of Night" comics. Though judging by the window dawn is starting to break at last, even if it is dawn as rendered by a ZX Spectrum.

I guess burning a traitor in effigy is a classic part of British culture, but there's something weirdly creepy about the Express guy's cheery-faced cartoon characters and their "the opposition are traitors, execute them!" comic. Like it's so easy to imagine him drawing basically the same cutesy styled cartoon for a book-burning.

Turning to stare at the reader while lifting Clegg's lifeless head into the air, sword impaling his neck, a brutal trophy for a murderous fanatic It was something to do with the EU
