Any tips for completing mission 7-5? Those chains are kind of ridiculous, especially when everyone gets sucked into a single location and they just keep running you over as soon as you get up. I know you break the sections of the main body to keep the chains from respawning, but I only managed to get one off before running out of lives.

Strange, I always shoot the head off but it will spin for days for me. Also are those pods resistant to piercing damage? Because I use a sniper and a polearm and never have I ever broken those missile pods.

I assumed it was the head, it's the small part that spins really fast while the spider thing does its spin attack. After fighting it a few more times, I noticed it regained a spin attack near death but it didn't last as long. Not a big deal in open space but in the cramped area mission it can be a pain.

As for the missle launchers. The small ones on its back legs are hard to pinpoint but they can be taken out. I think the spider can still launch those small webs, but there are less of them. The big launchers on its back are hard to destroy. When I used the Minmas I couldn't get'em, but using a knife I could if I just concentrated on them only.

My best loadout so far for severing parts has been a Level 5 Murasame knife and a Level 5 EZ Katze rifle. I can keep up the damage on a specific part by shooting it and then clinging and wearing down the sever meter when I get a chance. Jump away and repeat. I also have my Accessory with a rocket launcher and order it to Destroy Parts. I die alot but most people / AI are good about reviving.

lost my accessory for the first time in the code 4 optional with 2 of those tiger things. I ended up completing the mission (with 5 stars) but didn't get the accessory out of the tiger before the timer ended. now the special reclamation mission has a higher difficulty than the one I lost her on :v:

I had the reverse happen, lost my accesory on my first try at the code 4 test, and my reclamation mission was sooo much easier.

Edit: Yeah I have no idea what the gently caress commands I am supposed to issue to my allies to actually stay with the goddamn thing because keeping up with it and hitting Cover Me doesn't really do poo poo. loving hate escort missions

Use the "Suppress Personnel" command and make sure you're the one who picks up the beacon. Run ahead and place the beacon and then stay around it and take out any enemies that pop up nearby. When the abductor gets close, pick up the beacon and run ahead again and repeat. The abductor can't get through that big door that opens when you stand near it so you have to go the long way around. But you've probably seen that map enough to know the basic route by now.

After the initial wave of enemies, they usually don't spawn fast enough to cause any trouble. Forget about melee weapons and just take a couple EZ Katze rifles and some ammo boxes + whatever other items. Have your accessory follow you so you can get revived if you happen to die. Use the level 1 charge effect of the defense thorn at the beginning to help.

I'll update the list later tonight so it can be used in the OP whenever.

You know this game does a great job of reminding you that your Accessory is this really loving creepy robot that is stalking you 100% of the time just to make sure you aren't breaking rules; effectively being another set of eyes for the higher ups. Ergo I have come to really not enjoy my accessory's presence around me, but god drat if I am not super determined to save them when they get stolen. It may be a creepy robot, but it's my creepy robot dammit!

THE GREATER GOOD

Now that the marathon of cutscenes is over the only thing in the game I'm not really keen on (other than the finicky camera but, eh, hunting games) is manufacturing items and upgrades taking multiple real life minutes. At least the timer still runs in sleep mode so I can just turn it off and do something else for a bit.

Basically just grind Code 8 Citizen Rescues while waiting for your timers to run out, and just cycle those. Getting a weapon buffed out takes literal hours, so you may as well be doing something in the meanwhile.

I think I am either missing something, or the game is missing a codex or something, because jesus christ I cannot tell what missions have the exact mk version of what I need, and I have no idea what piece or requirement will get me pieces of materials that I need for upgrading and it is infuriating. Anyone know how I can tell what missions will give me the exact stuff I need?

Press Select when highlighting the mission. If you've completed it, it lists all possible enemies and resources you can gather.

for some reason the resource list for a few missions doesn't wrap properly to the window and the list runs off the edge of the screen. still useful since it's not a widespread thing

I was wondering why I could not find that feature at all. Which was really confusing because I was not only told about it in game but also saw it a few times via promo videos.

Earlier citizen missions that are also good and quick are 2-1 and 4-2. You can also keep taking citizens to the RRCs after completing the mission and waiting to return to your cell. 4-2 is good for this since the map is so small. Ordering your team to Protect Citizens will make them save people as well. The citizens on top of the towers seem to be higher value than the others, but I'm not totally sure.

There's gotta be some crazy Japanese Wiki for the game that no one's stumbled upon yet. There always is for these games.

The only way I've found so far is to highlight the component you need and the scroll at the bottom will tell you the abductor type that drops it. Then just scroll through the missions and find one where you fight that type. EDIT: Or the Select thing, I didn't know that!

But yeah, there's a whole lot of info (drop rates, etc) that we just don't have yet. I tried looking on Play Asia for some kind of "FW Bible" or something but there didn't seem to be any. I'm lame enough to want one and use my rudimentary J-language skills to figure stuff out.

Ya'll are making this sound fun as gently caress. I can't check a lot at work but I wanna ask two questions.

A. What's the game speed/lethality like? Is it like MH where the enemy can kill you very quickly if you gently caress up?

B. What's the "post-game" like? Is there a slew of ridiculously hard co-op stuff to do?

I'm still pretty early but it's actually easier to die than in MH I think (sans g-rank bullshit) but since you can get revived by your partners it's not a big deal.

A. It's worse than MH honestly, everything is hyper lethal because typically there are 4 people/4 AI (or any combination of that 8) running around who can revive you. You can also be revived from a very long distance by other players using the Thorn online. They don't pull punches at all.

B. Yes.

I die all the time but even in single player I rarely use "Sustainability" (which is this games lives) because everyone revives me quickly. It is pretty simple to die but if you can recognize the patterns of Abductors then you can get away pretty easily with your 3D grapple thing. I think I die more to the little dudes just because I can't keep track of them as well
