I already tried, but unfortunately she just doesn't have the attention span for it, and is mainly accustomed to reality shows. I think that's been the thing for her and she readily admits that she can't watch regular fictional shows anymore due to being hooked on bad reality TV. I'm like, But AHS is just like reality TV! I mean really. The earlier seasons esp S2 and and this season are just as over-the-top. So you'd think she'd appreciate it. But no.

So i guess she will be in this season.

Thank god - I hope it's more than a cameo where she's just ike picking up Pepper or something, though.

So over the weekend I re-watched Asylum and while I didn't like it the first time I watched it I must say that it was a fun ride the second time around. The way they broke up the present and the past was really well done, and I really liked how Lana's character developed. I kinda hated the whole alien arc the first time around, but being less skeptical during my second watch it really was entertaining.

I can't wait to see Lily Rabe come back!

I wonder if they'll have her be all innocent Mary Eunice mode, or crazy evil bitch devil mode. She was amazing in both. But I kind of love her as the devil, especially her lines with Farmer Hogget. I'm spacing on his name now.

Pepper was already in the asylum when Mary Eunice got possessed, so she should be her former self in Freakshow.

From a Huffington Post article

quote:

One of these clues is the scene where the character Maggie (Emma Roberts) is handed a coffee cup and there is a close up on a top hat, which the show creator confirmed is actually a clue for Season 5.

I'm thinking either Civil War, or some kind of magician/theater/opera thing.

I also thought circus (ringmasters wear top hats, right?), but that's probably too close to the carnival thing this season.

Jesus, I can't imagine AHS without Lange. They have to give lots and lots of Francis Conroy and Lily Rabe. Honestly. Like every loving scene. Just to fill the gap.

To be fair, we've seen a top hat more than once this season, relating to a time period well before the current show's timeline....

What time period was Mordrake meant to be from? 1800's?

I've been waiting my entire life for somebody to do something rad as gently caress with Spring-Heel Jack, but aside from the crappy Sherlock Holmes movie that The Asylum put out he's been a no-show. I'd trust AHS to do something cool with him in a Victorian setting

With how much of the show has been set in the past and dealt with the supernatural I do wonder how well a season focused more on futurism and sci-fi would work.

Hell yeah it would!! Have some mad scientist poo poo, maybe a Tesla/Edison type showdown, the H H Holmes murdermaze, maybe some gypsies and all kinds of other weirdos visiting from other countries to tie in some international mythology as well. With an overarching theme of American xenophobia. Hell, throw in a lake monster in Lake Michigan for good measure. Why not.

Civil War would also be awesome, and is probably more likely, although I'm having a bit more trouble thinking of paranormal things other than ghosts and like, Mothman or something.

With Civil War I could see them doing some Wendigo poo poo. Maybe some backwoods Appalachia stuff.

Would much rather have World's Fair or Area 51 but Civil War is hardly a bad third choice.

I read one speculative article today that connected the top hat to Operation Top Hat which was an operation for chemical testing on humans by the United State Army in the early 1950s to test decontamination. I could see all kinds of creepy horrific stuff coming out of biological, chemical, radiological testing.
