obi_ant posted:Aw man. Ghost Trick does not work for iSO 8. I wonder if they're gonna patch it anytime soon. poo poo crashes for me every time I start up. I've had it for quite a while-- almost a year since I bought all chapters unlock for $1 in the last Christmas sale. Finally gave it a shot and I'm on Chapter 5 or 6 after about as many sessions. The dialogue is very elementary-grade level but the plotting is basically compelling. The puzzle structures have been decent so far, only getting stuck once so far. There are some that rely on exact timing but are still relatively forgiving. Unfortunately I remember being spoiled on the big twist with the main character but it's neat seeing the foreshadowing at least. The art style/animations are only occasionally distractingly anime and just sort of inoffensively vibrant anime the rest of the time. For $1 it's a hell of a game.

Stoked for Subterfuge. I don't have the time to devote to properly beta testing it so I'll wait for the full release, but I hope it's great!

Icewind Dale EE should be out at some point tonight or tomorrow. Pretty excited. I never had bug problems with the other EE's so I'm not worried here.

However, liking it doesn't guarantee that you will ever like the more traditional point and click adventure games. There are lot of people who seem to think the genres shortcomings are actually it's virtues for some reason. That said, Broken Age is pretty good and not too bogged down with the more awful point and click crap.

Eight new levels of Monument Valley are coming next Thursday, for an IAP of $1.99 http://www.wired.com/2014/11/monument-valley-forgotten-shores/#slide-id-1626919 Also, the game has been downloaded over 1.4 million times. That's pretty incredible.

Big Fish Casino is pretty awesome for learning vegas table games and getting some experience in before you go to a real casino and lose all your money. Finally learning how to play craps. Of course the game with the best odds is the one that the fewest people know how to play. And i'm finally learning when to split and when to double down in Blackjack.

At the moment I'm super excited and checking it all the time, but I know that when I'm distracted with work I'll be lucky to check it even once a day. I appreciate them trying to structure it around slow, long-term play like that. I've already noticed that if the time scale wasn't so long, I'll already be screwed by my work day. Very glad I don't have to pay attention to it except for when I want to.
