I've got a project due for my photography course and the theme was "Abstract Urban" and this is what I came up with (sorry that these are only a bit related to street photography, urban photography being a cousin of street photography I guess??) I combined a photo of a intercom with another photo (an interesting pattern or shape) and played with it in photoshop to make a series.

Have to say that they don't do much for me. I can't really tell whether the patterns and shapes behind them are interesting because I can't really see them, but I feel like if they are you'd probably be better off presenting them alone. Finding and photographing interesting geometries in urban settings is definitely A Thing and if you check out the Landscapes thread in this very forum you should be able to find some pretty decent inspiration. You should read that thread, find some images you like and go out and take some more photos with that stuff in mind. It's not like there are rules to this thing, but one of the biggest rules is that if you have a bad or boring photo it'll still be bad or boring after messing around with filters in Photoshop.
