Just uploaded my stuff to The Keep (which is a neat idea/concept) and thanks to the tapestry feature even the events of DA2 manage to sound somewhat interesting. Now to erase all of my memories of ever playing that horrible game

Yeah, I think it is key to remember that she herself was never subject to the restrictions she talks about - she is allowed to live wherever she wants and has near-total freedom, so why does her opinion on the rebellion even matter? Maybe if she had actually lived in one of the Circles that never allow Mages to leave, I'd take her more seriously.

I think that that is a fairly major part of it "I have never experienced persecution, so why would people possibly be angry about it?"

I'm hoping a major part of her character development is showing her what it's like on the outside. Like really rubbing her face in the suffering of others. She strikes me as intelligent but extremely sheltered. I wanna give her a wake up call.

Is there a mod that let's you play as a Mage Class, but in the Human Noble Origin of Origins?

I loving loathe Jowan/the whole Mage plotline stuff, and enjoy how the Human Noble is actually connected to Howe/Loghain/politics. And I can suspend my disbelief enough that the Cousland's managed to have a Mage livein with them until things get really bad. Apparently I can just force my character to be a Mage after making it, but Jowan/all Circle Mages will react as though I grew up in the Tower.

I imagine someone already made this mod so they could marry Alistair as a Mage, I'm just having no luck finding it.
Meta Items will let you do that, among other things.

I don't think you can avoid the plot referring to you as a circle mage though.

Saying that, I think that showing her the problems that happen when mages are abused will be for the best.

If I didn't already unironically enjoy Tumblr-branded Hitlerian characters like Ashley and Leliana, the walls of care text some (read: all) people dedicate to why they deserve to die horribly would be my other source of enjoying them. I'm pretty sure I sent Fire into a panic attack explaining why Ashley is cool and good years back

There's a mod on nexus that fixes that. Would get link but I'm about to go to sleep--it's definitely there though.

Super excited about this game. I've liked everything I've seen so far. Have it preloaded onto my Origin account and I'm ready to take this on, as well as some dungeon crawls with cool people. Also, the art direction for this game might be one of my favorite ever. The dragons look rad as hell. I love how some of them are super bright and neon like how some of the world's most dangerous animals are, sending a message to other animals to gently caress off.

I think Vivienne comes across more privileged than sheltered. Watching that spoiler conversation video, she's well aware that every mage's experience is different and freely concedes that the situation at Kirkwall was wrong. She doesn't think that every Circle is fine; rather, she thinks that every Circle should be more like hers. What she seems more annoyed about is that her own peers, the other Circle leaders -- some of whom have nothing to complain about -- dragged their entire order into a war against the rest of the world in overt support of that monstrous dumbfuck Anders. Heck, wouldn't you be upset if you got associated with that guy?

When you approach it like that I suppose she has a lot of good points, but the book doesn't bear that out as much because the Templars are trying to dick things over anyway.

Still, these things happen and chatting will happen.

The legs can all be individually crippled but that health bar is for the entire dragon. No idea why they did it that way.

The battle system and finite potions mechanic seems to work well for skirmishes but I hope that the big Boss battles aren't a race against potions or a wow raid tank and spank but singleplayer

Except the mages aren't fighting to support Anders or his actions, they're fighting to end the increased persecution they're facing from the Templars as a result of Anders blowing up that chantry. (Not even Anders thinks Anders was in the right.) They're also not "going to war against the rest of the world," that's just how Vivienne paints it because she's bought into the idea that there is no middle ground between "mages are under the Chantry's thumb" and "the entire world is enslaved by tyrannical blood mage abominations." Vivienne wants to restore "order" and "stability," which is to say she wants to preserve the status quo because she's a wealthy influential noblewoman and the status quo suits her. She has no perspective on what life is like for other people--ironic, considering her argument that "every Circle is different, you can't generalize based on one person's experience"--and since being in the Circle worked to her personal benefit she assumes everything was fine for most mages and anyone who suffered under Templar control was just an unfortunate statistical outlier. She's like one of those women who argue sexism is over and feminism is an attack on men except with video game wizards instead of anything that actually matters in real life.

No idea! I'm basing this entirely off of a couple early conversations that lay out how she feels about mages and the mage/templar conflict in general. I'm sure there's more depth to her character and I'm willing to bet you can change her opinions as the game progresses, but like I said before her early conversations make her seem like someone I don't really want around in my quest to empower the proletariat and rebuild Thedas as a socialist utopia.

I had that weird dream again.
Templarz rule! Mages stink!

Decided I'm going to make a male human warrior for my first playthrough. As dreadfully dull as that sounds, I think it just makes more sense for the character as I want my first run to be with a holier-than-thou prick who supports the chantry and the templars.

Step 1. Download Hola Unblocker for Google Chrome, and choose a Mexican proxy.

Step 2. With the proxy active, go to the Dragon Age page, and add to basket. Go to your basket, and proceed to checkout.

Step 3. Once here, turn off Hola, so you're back to the US/UK version (change your language to English at the bottom if you want). Sign in, and the game will still be in your basket at the reduced price.

Step 4. Checkout with PayPal.

Well when I did it with Titanfall it was the International edition, so I don't think that will be the case.

edit: Scroll to the bottom of the product page and see supported languages. Even on the Mexican site it says that all nearly all languages are available.
