Opening the trunk operates the central locking system, I have to do the same thing to lock my car because the driver door tumbler wore out.

and I thought listing my e30 for $2,750 was too high of a price. Despite all the other e30's on CL being priced much higher, I have gotten very little interest in the car. Might have to suck it up and put a phone number on there, apparently people don't like using email.

Might be a situation where it's priced too far below others so people are overlooking it thinking something must be terribly wrong. I bet if you up your price you get some looks.

I've noticed that ads that contain little information get a lot of responses and ads that are laid out well with a lot of history get little interest but generally get bought by the first or second person to actually come look.

A ridiculous carbed 350 for irony's sake or an LS7 with a megasquirt is pretty much the only semi-sane answer.

E: for super irony, the 1.0L Ecoboost.

EE: The 3 cyl 1.0 makes 120HP in the footprint of a sheet of A4 paper, so there's an engine bay you can stand in and all.

Remote turbos are terrible. By the time the exhaust gets back there you've lost a lot of the heat and energy so you end up with a lot turbo lag and not much more power and all that bullshit under the car.

so put the compressor back there and just run a turboshaft to the turbines at the exhaust manifolds. easy peasy

Yeah hence the twincharger, small super charger which maxes out at say 3500 RPM, epic turbo so lag is less of an issue.

At least three companies sell kits to do V8 swaps into RX-7s:
http://www.grannysspeedshop.com/
https://www.hinsonsupercars.com/s-2-mazda-rx7-fc-86-92.aspx

And there's at least one forum dedicated to piston (usually V8) engine swaps into RX's:

Yeah the Chevy 350 swap is pretty popular in RX7's with roached rotaries, and V12 Jags with roached Rube-Goldberg Machines (all of them).

I found the same. A detailed ad attracts people that know what they're doing and aren't time wasters. They usually come out to check if everything they've read is true and normally buy on the spot.
Though some people can't read so might get a few time wasters still on the phone. regardless, it's the best way to sell, even if less phone calls, it means even less time wasters and no shows, (which is the absolute worst thing).

Funny to read e30s are so expensive there, they are into the dirt cheap territory here, old and over 200,000kms so no one wants them. Most are in the $1000 unfinished project car range, but there's always a few sub $4k one owner type cars around, but too many are autos.

To be honest? I'm fine with people who at LEAST give a cell-phone number to reach them at. It's a hell of a lot harder for a phone call to get forgotten, while an e-mail is easy as crap to see 50 of them in your inbox and just say, "nope not reading those".

The people who only leave an e-mail are usually the people that never respond to you for whatever reason until you find out that awesome car you wanted was sold.

E: Well, my point wasn't about email only, it was about a detailed ad to fully inform the serious buyers up front, so most people that show an interest are fully interested and going in eyes wide open and will probably buy.

But on your point about phone numbers, people aren't always contactable by phone during the day depending on their job (might be driving, might be in factory where no phones are allowed- or could even be heard/used, might be in an office where personal calls are frowned upon), and don't want to spend money retrieving voicemails after hours from all these missed calls.
Also when the car is gone, then they can ignore emails, rather than still have calls dealing with telling people the car has gone over and over again.
I know people can sms, but they seem to be the most dopiest, clueless and most likely to time waste people anyway, and sms obsessed, like send question after question, one by one, rather than put it all in one email, then they flake out.
