I just finished building the Zaku Amazing and its range of motion is kind of disappointing. There's pretty much only one way to have it hold its big gun, in particular. I mean there's not really much for them to work with given how many big chunky parts it has, but it is a tad lame. It's also a lot pinker than I thought it would be, and the pistol holsters have a hard time staying on. Still a fun build though, and few fiddly decals.

Now to wait for the Gouf R35 and Kampfer Amazing I ordered to arrive because I have poor impulse control, and the Powered GM Cardigan next week.

Yeah, eventually I got fed up with trying to pose it on mine and replaced it with a System Weapon sniper rifle. The Gouf R35 has much better pose-ability than the ZA, and the Kampfer Amazing's my favorite BF kit. Though you should be aware the shin and forearm accessory slots on the Kampfer are pretty much useless because they're too loose. The limbs are insanely stable due to polycap wrists and elbows though.

I finished my ZA last night too. I also noticed the gun holsters don't really click into the side skirts, you can kinda force them to stay still though. I got him posed with the sniper rifle and the extra bazooka. The rifle holds well with the butt under then arm. I don't think its possible to have the butt of the rifle to the shoulder, it will just pop the hand out. In the show I think I saw him hold it under the arm, I would have to go back to check though. The low amount of posing is the HG standard. I was thinking since no HG has posable hands, Build Fighters is totally lying about these Plavsky particles. It came with guns as it had all the Zaku weapons included.

Is that Triplus set worth the buy? They seem like they might be a bit thick for panel lining, at .3mm

I actually use them as everyday pens for my planner, so they're really good for actual writing at least.

They don't do as well as the Copic, but for variety at that size and price, it's as good as I can find. I'm all ears for a better value option, but from what I've done so far, they do fine and dandy. Give it two minutes to let the line dry and go over the surface part of the line that shouldn't be lined with an alcohol-impregnated Q-tip, and you're golden.

I wasn't expecting the shields to just pop on like that. The HGBF Battle Arms are amazing, everyone should get them.

Also I guess my FA Unicorn plan B is just going to steal my MG Banshee's shield too. That leaves it with what, the beam sabers?

I think hobbywave does the 10% off on 5 gunpla thing every year and HLJ usually has something similar. I think the best savings to be had would be to sign up for paypal cashback and hope theres a black friday deal somewhere

Why did this thing have to be replaced with an SD Gundam, this is so much cooler.

Speaking of the Neo Zeong and Sleeves sleeves,

Finished painting the Sinanju today. Aside from the pebbled texture on the gun and a broken fuel tank, I'm pleased with how he turned out for my first paint job. Handpainting the gold trim took an entire day but it was rewarding work, even if I never want to do it again. Once I topcoat this guy, I'll start his big paper-tiger overcoat

Finished!

I'm pleased with how the Sinanju color scheme turned out on the NZ itself. If I have any one regret, its that the red topcoat I had was mad pebbly and that I did most of my spraying on a humid day. Still, a good learning experience, and my grandpa says he has a proper airbrush and compressor sitting around in his garage somewhere.

The figures look fine, and everything else looks great (I don't even spot that nub you're talking about, but I admit I don't know where to look)!

One of the tricks I like for painting little plastic men is that, even if your hands shake, your hands tend to shake the same way. If you hold the figure in one hand and paint with the other while resting your forearms on your chest (keep your hands as close to your body as you can), the movement of your chest will tend to equalize the movement of your hands, so even though you're a bit shaky your hands will both be moving the same way. That lets you paint very steadily even with shaky fingers (like mine! :D ).

You just need to wear a shirt you don't mind accidentally getting a little paint on.
