I've said it before but the Baton is a lot better than a lot of people give it credit for. Most of the finishers are huge, and its single-target damage is actually pretty good. Not to mention it seems to have a weird slow effect on enemies when they get a little tornado spawned on them, so it is extremely easy to juggle captains, even more so than other lightning weapons. Unless that's normal for all of them, I just notice it with the Baton the most.

Ugh, trying to get the level 2 Baton is a pain in the rear end. loving Volga and Wizzro pushing me over the damage limit. I can deal with the main boss no problem, but those two always give me trouble.

It is possible to beat that mission without ever fighting Volga. What you do is, as soon as the mission starts, turn around and take the Bastion that is right to the north of your starting position. That will slow Volga down. Then, head to the center area in front of your base and kill the shield moblin, the gibdo messenger and Wizro. When everyone is dead, head straight for Girahim. You will run into a force of moblins, with two shield moblins commanding them, on the stairs leading to Girahim's bastion. Kill them all so they wont reinforce Volga's forces. Then fight Girahim.

What will happen is Volga and the Aeralfos captain will run into each other right in front of your base, and the gibdos of team yellow will tear Volga apart. Their fight will take a while, you should have enough time to kill Girahim and get some extra kills by taking one of the nearby bastions. As soon as you see the Volga fled message, dash for your base because it will be full of yellow troops. Then just kill the aeralfos commander.

This is probably a dumb question, but for other people to get me as a Network Link, do I have to enable that second option in the menu (the one about Miiverse whatever)? It occurred to me earlier that, even though I've been helping out friends when they've appeared on my adventure maps, I've never once seen the message about getting a friend bonus or whatever it is.

I'm not sure how that system is supposed to work. I've helped many a goon network link, but I've only ever gotten helped once (50k rupees). And I know that I've helped your link several times Shadow Ninja, maybe both players have to on at the same time?

Hey man if Zelda's an option when it comes to devastating attacks, I'm all over that baton. A straight line of instakill, or a giant cone of instakill? I, for one, go with the giant cone.

There's something satisfying about leaving one of the larger devastating attacks stages with over a thousand KOs. It's completely unnecessary, but it's also nice to take a couple seconds and make sure no random mooks are gonna try to bonk me as I pass by.

Yeah but if I'm not going to use the bow then I'm going to use Sheik and her electric barrier, since it's even more satisfying to run through a crowd of mooks slaughtering every single one that dares to get near the electric storm of death.

Weird. I've never once seen that popup window that the one loading screen tooltip shows when talking about the friend bonus, but maybe it's happening anyway?

Just barely managed to A-rank the Zelda/Sheik Barrier Specialist map on the TP Adventure map at level 65.. Got super-lucky that Ganondorf decided to throw out another quick weakpoint-exposing attack right after the previous one. Now I seem to have access to the desert area earlier than intended. Definitely felt like I was lower-leveled than intended, since the generic HP meter grunts could survive a full C6 combo. While frustrating, it can be fun to develop strategies to A-rank some of these evil levels.

Chew on that... you overgrown son of a bitch.

I'm sorry, Shadow Ninja 64. I see your Link all the time, but the reward never looks like something I want.

Touche, Twelve by Pies, touche. That's even better when you consider the water shield.

Also if you guys haven't finished the grid square with Hyrule castle in it, be prepared to get booted to the main menu when you complete it. I thought it was kinda funny; make sure you take the flavor text at the map screen seriously.

That's sort of been my reaction. If the TP map is harder, then I just don't think I am good enough. I had to take a break just because of my frustration with Agitha's level 3, plus my party level is hovering at around 50, so if the 60s aren't enough, well, haha... :stare:

I tend to only spend rupees when a character needs catching up or if a level is too hard. In this case I had already pumped some levels in, and would have added more if I still felt the map was out of my league. I do it that way so if someone has fallen too far behind I should have enough reserves to catch up without issue.

Basically, in 50 years, when I die, after the funeral, my child will be going through my things and go "Oh, here's that ancient game that dear old Dad was always working on, chipping away a bit every now and then" and then he'll fire up the last thing I was trying to get, beat it on the first try, and weep inconsolably. Thank you, Nintendo, for these memories.

Pretty sure that's the "KO 1000 enemies in 10 minutes!" level actually but that just means she has 32 seconds to KO 179 more dudes. I think that level is actually impossible to A-rank which is probably why there's no medal for A-ranking every square on the vanilla Adventure map.

I did however manage to get "Cucco's Revenge" while doing a "Don't get hit" stage with Wizzro. I'm not sure if that level purposely causes the two fighting Cuccos to spawn in one of the keeps you're supposed to take for the first mission, but that's what happened each time.

On that note did anyone ever figure out what the silver cucco does? It doesn't drop anything or seem to give any other bonuses, and it doesn't seem to actually DO anything so why is it even there?

I'm pretty sure there is though?

I've been getting pretty close at A-ranking the level, to the point where I can at least get an A on damage taken pretty consistently. But I keep finishing the level 10-15 seconds too late. Tried it with Cia's C1 and Link's spinner, both pretty effective but just not fast enough, especially when the enemies get so spread out toward the end. I'm thinking of trying it with Epona next... Surely the power of the horse will help me.

Certainly makes Skulltulas easier.

I think you mean Cia's C2, which is the XY footstomp that can be mashed three times each time. That's how I did it, but another option is going with the Master Sword and utilizing C3 and C1 a lot.
