Can someone help me out? I have been trying to copy pictures from my phone (4s on iOS 8.1.1) to my Windows 8 PC. iTunes works and syncs with my phone but I don't see a way to view and transfer pictures through it. When I go to My Computer it used to show up as a drive where I could get to the DCIM pictures but that no longer shows up. In the device manager it shows iPhone but says
code:
The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)

There are no compatible drivers for this device.

To find a driver for this device, click Update Driver.
I have tried reinstalling drivers looking on the web, in the system32 folder, and in the Mobile Device Support folder with no luck.
I have also reinstalled itunes a couple times.

Any ideas on how I can fix this? I don't want to use a cloud service for some of the pictures I want to transfer.

Is there an app or anything that will export my HealthKit (or MyFitnessPal) data as a spreadsheet? I want to output my weight so I can get a bunch of BMI data points to add (manually I guess) back into HealthKit since I guess MFP only does weight and not BMI.

I have tried manually selecting the drivers there and it still shows the same thing. It also shows in the device manager that under the USB drivers I have Apple mobile device USB drivers, but it still shows the iPhone under other devices and has the same problem as above.

Isn't safari supposed to prevent websites from opening up directly into the App Store now? Sometimes when I'm looking at cat pictures porn on tumblr I am taken to the app sore.

Yes, but it's basically destined to always be a cat and mouse game. Advertisers who make ads that redirect to the App Store are using completely legitimate techniques, they're just using them in undesirable ways. There's no perfect way to programmatically detect that. Apple tried to stop it in iOS 8, but clearly people have figured out how to beat whatever algorithm Apple came up with.

Does anyone have any experience with those IMEI unlocking services?

Seems a bit "too good to be true" to pay some stranger $20 and they use whatever it is to get the phone whitelisted.

Legit, or should I use the $20 to get Mom a Christmas Starbucks card?

Nah i've upgraded mine ages ago it was a friends, ended up having to power it off then go through the 'swipe to upgrade' bit again. Worked fine after that, before I tried that it was just stuck for about 4 hours with the bar near the end.

My 5 would end up with 10% battery with a less intense use cycle so yeah it's pretty cool.

Think for Yourself, Question Authority.
So some Canadian apparently stole my credit card number and decided to use it to buy $50 of underwear in Montreal. Chase declined the transaction and let me know about the fraud and are sending me a new card in 3-5 days. No big deal.

The cool thing is that I have the card tied into Apple Pay and literally 10 seconds after I hung up with Chase I opened up Passbook and can already see my newly issued card number (well the last 4 digits of it). It's also completely activated and ready to use with Apple Pay despite not having the physical card yet.

Pretty neat.

Those crafty Canadians, conquering the world with hockey isn't going well so they figured building an empire of stolen underwear would be a good plan B.

I really don't understand Photo Stream. I take a lot of screenshots for my job. iOS 8 has been great because I can AirDrop them to my computer and then delete them from my phone. I get the "photo will also be removed from Photo Stream" warning and tap OK. But, when I fire up iPhoto, which I do once every other week or so, it still pulls down the old photos. They do not show up in the iCloud Shared (Photo Stream) album, but in the auto-created, local monthly Photo Stream album. It's annoying to have to go in and clean out the poo poo that I don't need twice.

I know this could easily also be an APPS thread question, but does anyone else have SONOS and use their app on iPhone?
Only recently (Dare I say even after the most recent update) I'm seeing that in Battery Usage... Sonos "Background Activity" is clocking in at like 10% in the last 24 hours.

2 things:

1) Ive never seen SONOS app use that much before...

2) I've literally only opened it like twice today to start music and to stop it.

Wondering what it needs to even do in the background.

I'm not familiar with the app or how SONOS works but it might be maintaining a wifi connection in the background to allow for instant control once you open the app, much like the official Apple Remote app works.

Well. If that's the case it needs to loving stop because it didn't before... and it was fine. Now it's a serious contender for top of my battery usage list and I enacted with it 2 times for less than 30 seconds each. :p

Why does iTunes say I have 877 photos on my iPhone 6+? I legit have 97 in my Camera Roll, 487 in the Recently Deleted folder. I do not have iCloud photo sync or whatever enabled.

edit: deleted everything in the "Recently Deleted" folder, still at 390 according to iTunes. ~300 ghost photos.

Ever since I turned on two-step verification, I have to enter my password a whole lot more when using my phone and the app store. It's really annoying.

Why can't TouchID count for two-step verification?

Had the same issue with my 6. I used iExplorer to delete them, but then had to trash the PhotoData folder as well to fully reset everything.

So a few months in, how is everyone liking their iPhones 6? I have an upgrade available at the start of February, although I had gotten a warranty replacement iPhone 5 back in September and was planning to just hold out for the 6S. That said, I'm mulling going ahead and upgrading, both to get on a cheaper single-line plan and to maximize resale/trade value of my 5.
