Rosita still finds time to wax her armpits, wouldn't want the walkers to grab on to that.

Was the point of this half-season to make the viewer feel as powerless and hopeless as Rick and his crew? 1. Terminus was going to be their safe haven but it all went to hell in a butchers basket. 2. Eugene was going to stop and reverse the zombie infestation but now that ain't happening. 3. Beth was captured but Rick had a plan to rescue her...until she committed suicide by cop. So what was the point to any of this?! And now they are back to having nothing compelling to do and nowhere to go; a large group (16 of them I think) that will need a lot of resources and sizeable secure housing to keep the undead horde out.

Binary Logic posted:Was the point of this half-season to make the viewer feel as powerless and hopeless as Rick and his crew? Yeah I think hopelessness and the struggle to overcome it is going to be a major theme in the second half of the season. The group has never been ground down to this degree before, and they really have nothing positive going for them right now. All of their big hopes have been shattered.

Except, you know, the group's never been as strong or cohesive as it is now. With the exception of the priest and the baby, there's no deadweight on the team, so they can do anything they want without having to worry about a bunch of cripples and children slowing them down.

Hopefully Eugene isn't crippled and his massive head trauma causes him to wake up with some zanny new character quirks.

Binary Logic posted:So what was the point to any of this?! The contrast between the Rape Cops and Rick - in aesthetic, motivation, and means - demonstrates the change that Rick&Co. have undergone. Rick looks and sounds positively savage during the hallway showdown compared to the clean-cut police with their pristine uniforms in their ascetic white hospital. Similarly, this is why Rick cannot take Bob's body armor vest; the police cruiser rundown that happens in that same scene tells us what a chaotic and deadly force Rick is when vested with the trappings of his former life. He cannot go back. The theme isn't particularly subtle. They say "you can't go back" several times. The thematic "point" is that Rick is finally a true brigand, albeit in a lawless world. Also Then again the rape cops are a fairly terrible foil for Rick since they are literal Villains, just one of many dropped balls.

Largely a lot of what has been going on is to show that the main crew are not "good guys" anymore (between them and Rape cops well they are a lesser evil, but Bob was totally right to run away from those crazies and the preacher too). And the consequences of that will be the next part of the season which pretty much HAS to be at Noah's family member run safe zone. Largely it is about what morals mean now and where the lines of it lay. Rick gives warnings, but then does not gently caress around. Which makes him the good guy when paired against cannibals and rapists only.

People talk about this buy none of them have really done anything questionable, they killed some Cannibals that were trying to eat their baby then they negotiated a hostage transfer with rapists that had kidnapped 2 of their women, you would have a point if it all wasn't so black/white.
