Whoever said to always use stealth belts in Arcade is a genius. Playing Germany, Russia, and Britain back to back in 3 games, I brought in 37 combined kills. I never do that good outside of Chaikastomping. Edit: The 262 you need for GA is pretty far down on the tree right?

Came back to this game after a long break and wanted to know, did they change american 50s? It seems to take a lot more hits to put down enemy planes than I remember. Still been stomping face with my f80 and p51 though. In fact maybe it's just coincidence but it almost seems like american pubbies are half competent now. Also what's the best way to take on a yak 3 in a bf109? I'm never sure how to approach that fight. Finally, is ground forces worth a drat yet? I was lured back by the idea of american ground forces coming sometime soon by until then I thought I'd dick around with my king tiger and panthers if they'd changed it up any.

They added in a neat little damage modeling system that gives you feedback on how much damage you're actually doing, as well as damage done to you. They also made matches a bit more fair in that the first enemy to capture a point isn't guaranteed the win. Those were the two biggest changes, I guess. Other than that, I'm not always that sure what people mean about the Ground Forces being bad. It's wonky in places, but it's at least way above and beyond any other tank game I've ever played. If I could find two big problems, it'd be that RB and SB are stuck with boring 5v5s where RB teams consist of four people on each team flying planes and quitting when they die, and the spotting mechanics in AB are bad. Edit: On that topic, I guess I'll start hanging in Mumble (name is Brickfight) if anyone has any questions on Ground Forces or wants to stomp on some fascist box tanks/collectivist slope tanks. They corrected them so that AP doesn't overperform like a mutha, but they do set things on fire real well and kill real well in the hands of a fine pilot, and you are a fine pilot. Pubbies aren't, so these days I often treat a .50cal plane on my tail as a low-priority threat.

In all seriousness you just have to be better than them - which shouldn't be too hard given that Russian players are among the worst in the game next to USA players. With 5 seconds left on my repair the game says we have suffered a defeat, we lost all of our vehicles. No we didn't you assholes. There was no death message, nor did the score show me as dying. They are usually heavy and have a somewhat bad Power to weight ratio. Accelerate well in a dive and also have a good zoom climb. They will usually bleed a lot of energy in turns and can not regain it fast (due to the "bad" power to weight ratio). The F7F is an exemption to the bad power to weight thing. A classic energy fighter is more agile and has very good acceleration. They can also stay closer to their opponent. Well I don't think the distinction was really used in the war or anything but as far as WT is concerned, Boom and Zoom fighters work by storing up vast quantities of energy and exploiting that with large sweeping motions. This generally requires them to be very heavy which makes building up that energy a pain because the will accelerate and climb poorly and generally turn poorly (or bleed all their speed in the process leaving them vulnerable). They do however have great endurance due to large fuel tanks and heave armament loads and are basically untouchable if they get the advantage and don't squander it. American Fighters generally fall into this category. Also FW190s. Energy fighters or kind of the opposite. They have massive engines on lightweight frames. Unsurprisingly these tend to be mostly interceptors like the 109. They climb excellently accelerate like rockets and generally dive moderately well with average agility. These guys replenish energy quickly and generally work by forcing enemies to waste energy until they have a decisive advantage. Favouring rapid vertical slashing attacks, like boom and zoom on a smaller scale. They generally lack the endurance of BnZ planes with much lower fuel and ammo loads.

I can't stand the Ki-61s at all because they seem to fall apart harder than anything else in the game at 4km and above. Trying to climb with teammates as we pursue the last American, and all of us in Ki-61s are like morbidly obese guys at a marathon. Barely able to keep the nose and IAS up.

Jumped into the B17G for GA, did a red-line dive to 100 meters followed by the clipped wreckages of pubbies following, sailed to the factory with no enemies coming closer than 4.5km, scored the victory after the few surviving AI dropped their loads. Silly pubbies.
