Voyager I 100% understand where you are coming from. I enjoyed the AA thread,but for my part, I'm sorry for loving up the conversation. Wish I could have hosed with the weirdos and also let you have the game discussion.

Derails kinda prevent a conversation from taking place, unless people just ignore the derail. During one of the huge meltdowns in archeage, some guy just asked questions about the game and was responded to. The solution was so easy, just post about something different. If the people in the thread don't want to post about something more on topic, then a derail happens. It is honestly up to the posters. So when people have the attitude of "I won't post there because_____" they are part of the problem they dislike with more control over the solution than they want to admit. The image spam people complain about isn't that big of a deal no matter how much they claim it is. They will exaggerate and say it is all over the place when if you go look at it, it isn't. It didn't last long and only showed up when someone is being really dumb. No blame is put onto those dumb people because they dislike image macros that much. I have had quite a few people tell me that they dislike how the archeage thread went. But I've had an almost equal in size group of people tell me that they thought the thread improved. We got quite a few groups and cultures on SA and some love to see drama or someone arguing the age of consent mocked with image macros.
