That's... kind of odd, since the only thing lives affect is the end of stage bonuses. Which are a decent chunk, but considering spellcard bonuses, items, and stage 4's hilarious amount of canceled bullets I'd have thought you'd get 10 million just from in-stage. I dunno then!

Well, that was back when I was a novice so maybe it'd be better now. All I know is that I lowered the life counter and then 1 CC'd the game. And... I haven't really played it all since then because I moved on to IN, etc.

Reimu on stage 4 is way harder than Marisa because she just flies across the screen and it's nearly impossible to hit her. Unless I'm an idiot, that is.

Reimu is a way more fun fight though. At least on Normal, I don't know if she gets really absurd on higher difficulties or anything.

Skip to 4:00 if you wanna see how to easily deal with her teleporting (because that's basically what it is - don't try to follow her). e: I guess it's worth noting that I find Reimu way easier than Marisa.

The best part about IN's stage 4 bosses is that they were designed so that Border Team wrecks Reimu and Magic Team destroys Marisa.

As a note to how important system mechanics are, I think unlocking the final Last Word of IN requires doing a hard mode Reimu Solo 1cc and it is really annoying since you have to shoot every familiar. Hourai Bullet at the end of the run adds insult to injury, since there's a wall of familiars in front of Kaguya. Have fun doing half damage on the longest spellcard with a low-power character!

Looking at the list, it turns out I was thinking of Yuyuko's Last Word where you just have to beat the game on Lunatic without any other requirements. Moriya shrine is the best group, but the Taoists are the coolest. They set things on fire, con people out of money with fake religious items, fight emissaries from hell as a way to blow off steam, reside in a pocket dimension of their own creation and are generally just pretty chill about the whole been trapped in suspended animation for centuries thing. Also they have the best fashion sense, I mean have you seen Miko's Evil Overlord Cape? Only Utsuho's outfit comes close to being as cool.
