NES Remix pack? $ 14.40 after GCU
Captain Toad? $ 19.19 after GCU
Option 3: Don't buy anything cause my backlog is approaching steam levels

Go.

Yeah go indeed, go buy loving Toad game.

I still think it should've been like $30, but $19? Definitely.

Is Walmart having a sale? Because I think a Target sale started today; $250 for the Mario 3D World bundle. Great deal! Or, just get Walmart to price match that deal.

Edit: yup, good all week long https://www.cheapassgamer.com/topic/339603-target-ad-1214-1220-wii-u-mario-3d-world-nintendoland-250-3ds-xl-150/ Depending on where you live, Target may be sold out already. I live in a big town, and I usually only see one or two Mario 3D World bundles available at most stores excluding Gamestop and Best Buy. Speaking of, Best Buy may also price match Target if you can't find it at the other two.

Yes, it's started today. Gonna go price match the one I bought from them on Black Friday to get my $25 back  Buy it from Target, since as a corporation they are slightly less terrible than Walmart.
Weirdly, when I called the main Target number they gave me some bullshit line about how they only price match up to the week following when you bought it and to get the difference I would have to literally bring it back, return it, and immediately buy it back for the lower price. But when I called my local store they were just like "yeah, just bring the receipt, anything you bought since November 1 can be price matched through the end of the year."

I bought the loving toad game and Bayonetta. I had a surprise $15 worth of reward certificates as a bonus. $54 out the door for Bayonetta 2 and Captain Toad.

Well now.
Oh, that reminds me - huge Captain Toad tip for anyone currently working through the game, just starting it, planning to get it - the ZR button can also be used as the run/action button. This is really helpful because it means you can keep both hands on both sticks, so you can run and rotate the camera at the same time. I wish that it was on ZL so you could also run and use the touch screen at the same time, but alas.

I didn't have a price match success because here our Target ad says the Nintendo Land bundle for 250, not the M3DW one. I did get $25 bucks back though bc BB has it for $275.

I'm still not seeing the BB b1G140% anywhere. Who's got a link?

Checked out Best Buy and they did in fact price match after I had bought it about two weeks ago. Took less than a minute at the customer service desk and got about $52 back. Now if only anywhere had the Gamecube controller to Wii U adaptor :argh:

The NES part I'm fine with, the part I'm somewhat worried about is the overall lack of variety when it comes to the "remix" part since most of the challenges seem to be about specific segments of the normal games.

Literally the only thing keeping me from 3d world is that I still have to replay the galaxy games.

Finally tossed Sunshine aside after seeing the ending, and borrowed a friend's copy of DK Jungle Beat on the Wii.

Holy hell, it is SO good. Super short, but it was made by the same team that went on to Mario Galaxy - so imagine a rhythm influenced 2d platformer by that team.

Whereas I finished Galaxy for the first time tonight, and now feel slightly cheated that Galaxy 2 appears to be a completely random story restart for no reason. Not that Mario game stories ever really matter, but I regret loading up Galaxy 2 right after the ending and final storybook chapter of Galaxy 1 now.

I liked Jungle Beat a lot and it's surprisingly intuitive for being controlled by the bongos.

"What if Bowser was really big" is an important question that required multiple games to answer, clearly.

Galaxy 2 is otherwise an improvement on Galaxy 1 in every way so you'll be okay

Narcissus1916

galaxy 2 starts out with you going "Well, this is nice. More Galaxy."

About an hour or so in, the game gets going and it is so much more than just new levels for Galaxy.

Doesn't Galaxy 1 end with a completely random story reboot for no reason? The universe is destroyed and then Rosalina recreates it as it was at the start of the game with some changes and she hasn't met Mario but he remembers or something because he looks in the sky and screams WELCOME NEW GALAXY

Weeeell, that is a point, but Bowser sure goes quick from being knocked out on the lawn of the castle to again being giant and having kidnapped Peach in that case.

Oh well, I am really not all that bothered, just seemed unnecessary to just reset the precise same setup, when it would have been just as easy to revive Tatanga as the star-stealing villain and let Peach not actually be kidnapped in this one, just to sort of leave the rescue effort part of Galaxy 1 not entirely pointless (I am now unsure how it was necessary for the universe recreation business).

Jungle Beat is one of the best games of all time, but gently caress the Wii port. Playing it without the bongos just ruins things, it was designed around the whole tap the side of the bongos mechanic. OG Gamecube version with the bongos or bust.

This game couldn't be any cuter. I have to give Nintendo major credit. Until Treasure Tracker, I thought Toad was far and away the most annoying thing in any Nintendo game. Daisy's a distant second.

started up wii u, entered date and time and was greeted with a system memory error. error code lookup gave me

so I guess it's DOA. I'll probably just exchange it at the store rather than going through nintendo

e: i just restarted it and it went through the set up ok. but now I'm worried. I'll play with it and see if anything else weird happens

Game Over
Return of Mido

Quick question, if you buy Bayonetta 1/2 digitally, do you get digital deluxe promotion points for both games and if so, how many for each?

I'm wondering if buying one and getting the other causes a situation like how the free game from Mario Kart 8 gave you points worth the full purchase price of the game.
