I've always wanted to play a game where I could be a space trucker and then Maybe level up to be a blockade runner.

I like to kill time by killing endless waves of enemies, preferably in single player so I can just quit when I need to. Is Killing Floor any good for that? Or is it like Payday 2 where I need other players with me in order to actually win (and therefore get my EXP)?

The Killing Floor community is probably the most chill I've ever encountered. Even this far along, they've managed to keep the L4D sorts out somehow. Maybe because the game feels low budget so they don't stick around? Who knows. Anyway, people won't be mad if you have to quit early on, whereas in other zombie based online shooters you'll probably have xx420WeedSMOKaHxx turning up at your front door demanding an explanation.

They're spending god knows how long and what they'll end up with is probably going to be roughly equivalent with the Xbox 360 controller since it's pretty much perfect already. Maybe they could re-release the Xbox controller, fix the dodgy d-pad and call it a day.

I like how Shadow of Mordor hypes it up when a Warchief appears on the field, but then you can just stealth kill him in 5 seconds. Yes I really needed to feel "epic" and "manly" when I just dropped on his head with my sword.

Accordion Man posted:Try fighting Warchiefs where you can't do that to them. Warchiefs are so drat disappointing. Why yes, it is fun when I'm made to go through the tedium of timing this DDR combo perfectly so it doesn't trigger a combat finisher and playing the 'I am an amazing orc' animation that shows that, yes indeed, this is going to be a fun fight. Even more fun are the ones that are immune to everything so you literally have to do 2 hit combos over and over until they die because they'll counter/parry/dematerialize everything else. People will tell you you need to be bad to have fun with the Nemesis system. I'd rather they make a more challenging game instead. The best "Shadow of" game featuring bloody combat will always be Shadow of Rome https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2-Ys5S7cGto

Alain Post posted:Good luck, Gamer. The Mass Effect trilogy is an epic experience. Mass effect 1 is an unusual, if somewhat entertaining mix of shooter, driving, and RPG. Mass effect 2 is gears of war in space, abandons all the charm that ME1 had, and plot wise is absolutely, 100%, completely inconsequential, it starts and ends on the exact same note, 'reapers are on their way', it's a filler episode. So I never saw the point in buying mass effect 3, because 2 was boring and poo poo, I imagine it's poo poo also. Not sure how it's possible to be interested in the plot of mass effect because it doesn't have any. The first two games give you one plot point, which is that alien robots are going to kill everyone. Everything else that happens is irrelevant and nothing you do has any bearing on the impending robot genocide. OwlFancier fucked around with this message at 06:46 on Dec 20, 2014 |

Mass Effect 2 is the best written game of the trilogy because it understands that the worst part of the series has always been the overarching plot.

'Vague hints' like them saying 'hey we need a tech specialist to hack a computer! Who should we send, the tech specialist, the robot who is a computer, the soldier guy, or the space ninja?' or maybe vague hints like 'we need someone to lead a squad as distractions, should we send the old guy who has proven he's a bad leader, the person with military training as a squad leader, the person built up as being a genius tactician, or space batman?' I honestly don't understand how anyone could mess up on the suicide mission except by not realizing that loyalty missions were not actually optional. Edit: sorry this sounded meaner than I intended for it to, Owl. I just think people overstated how difficult that stuff was.
