Horse pupils are the same way, but you usually don't notice because their eyes are pretty dark!

So are horse pupils. Just not as pronounced and harder to see because of the dark coloration.

That kinda stunned me when I learned it.

I remember years ago (oh Lord, I just checked and it was eleven years ago) there was a series of frontpage articles called Tales from the Zoo. If there are any zookeepers ITT, do you have any tales of wonder to share? As a picture thread this isn't the right place to tell them, but I'd love to be pointed in the right direction.

Pupilchat: Ferrets (and I think other weasel-types) have pupils that are both slit-style like housecats /and/ horizontal. But again very difficult to notice since the rest of the eye is dark. It's theorized to be a motion-sensing thing; vertical slits are good for back-and-forth motion, while horizontal are good for up-and-down motion.

So, my GF is pretty goddamn awesome. For Xmas, she's putting together packages for the local homeless folks - 100 mens, 100 womens. She's probably spent something like $500 on this already.

(65 men's packs there, 35 to go!)

Toques, gloves, toothbrushes, deodorant, soap, etc.

Probably, my cats all have this weird thing where they just love to sleep on paper. We have some old brown packing paper that we can't throw out because the cats all love to play with it, then fall asleep on it. Even with nice soft couches and chairs available, NOPE gotta sleep on that paper.
