I'd like to know if Sony is actually putting money into finding those guys. I mean, they're aren't doing anything illegal, I think, but Sony has dudes who can break fingers/kneecaps, I'm sure.

You guys realize LS is based out of Russia, right? There's not much US law enforcement could do about it, even if they cared enough to get involved. It all comes down to Sony and their inability to provide even basic network security, which is hilarious in tyool 2014.

DDoS attacks are basically impossible to stop while the Internet and general-purpose computing works the way it currently does. Change that, and welcome to x.25net, where the living envy the dead.

Hell, even their regular web sites serve at a snail pace as it is.

Do the first few story missions as soon as they're available and finish Act I. You won't lock yourself out of anything, you'll have a full party to play around with, the plot will get a lot more interesting, and you'll open up new customization options for character skills and equipment crafting. Seriously. The huge maps are cool but you will drive yourself crazy if you try and do everything

Hasn't Sony been able to mitigate these things faster in the past? I remember last time PSN got hit it was only down for a couple of hours.Soul Glo posted:I don't actually think Sony employs gangsters from the '40s as enforcers. Pretty sure that whole line was a Shadowrun joke.

My gut tells me that even in Russia, causing malicious damage to a company's infrastructure or financial resources is very illegal. And we should probably be glad that for the most part we now live in a world where giant corporations try to solve problems like this legally, instead of the perpetrators getting quietly disappeared permanently.

Isn't there like an initialization process in the beginning and a sign in required or can I just grab the newest update and throw it on so they can just play solo cod or injustice or something? I couldve sworn I had to sign into the network to play the first time but that was a year ago so I can't remember.

Or maybe they just feel like most people who can't access their store today will just wait until tomorrow to buy whatever they were going to since most people don't own two consoles. I got lucky, both games I got were single player and the patches just took a while. It just really sucks for all the kids who finally got their consoles this morning and have been stuck. I still remember my respective Christmas mornings with my SNES, N64 and Dreamcast.

My dad, who knows nothing about video games, randomly grabbed me Alien: Isolation as a gift to me today. It was a super nice surprise, I've wanted to check it out for months. I was confused how he picked it, though, and asked about it. Apparently, he went to Target looking for a game for me and asked an employee what he'd recommend. The kid was "really dumb looking, yet condescending" and recommended AC: Unity heavily. My dad, wanting to spite him, recognized the Alien brand and got that instead. I have a great dad.
