Apparently nothing much dramatic ever happened with Jar Jar, he didn't die or anything but he just didn't do anything very important.

I'm shocked.

I thought he gave power to Palpatine to use the clones, though? So I guess he's partially responsible for the rise of a galactic fascist regime.

The best part about Jar Jar in the clone war tv series is the fact that Mace Windu and other characters are equally annoyed with him too.

Well that's true in TPM as well - everyone except maybe Anakin can't stand Jar Jar.

This should be a clue as to how we're supposed to perceive the character, but....

Also it turns out the wacky comic strip someone posted earlier in the thread of Jar Jar hunting whales with his father on and old timey whaling ship is canonical in the old EU. I thought it was just some weird webcomic some random person had drawn.

Ok who was the lady jabba watching the pod race scene in episode 1? what was her back story? Or do the prequels don't count for eu stuff?

Do any of the eu books conflict each other? And what happens then?

Also, who gives a poo poo?

He was also considered a "political ally" of Palpatine after Revenge of the Sith. Jar Jar paved the way for the empire and supported their existence, at least for a while.

If you think about it, planets like Naboo and Alderaan produced literally nothing except a handful of aristocratic families... "We're a peaceful planet" is practically code for "we're a garden planet for the rich tjat produces npthing and sucks resources like a hoover," which is why Naboo virtually collapsed after maybe a month under blockade.... I bet Palpatine ignored Naboo and their whole service/tourism economy collapsed during the war. That old bearded advisor dude from Ep 1 was probably hawking his silverware to survive lol

That lady was Gardulla(spelling?) the Hutt. She was Jaba's wife, and former owner of the sky walker family. I remember someone saying that their was an EU book where she tried to eat Anakin, but he was saved by the force. Also Jaba apparently became angry with Gardulla and ate her sometime before the OT.

Okay, what's the story behind the red astromech droid the Jawas want to sell to the Skywalkers, but that explodes before the deal? What amazing adventures; which crime syndicate die it bust before Episode IV?

We've already covered this one - that droid is force-sensitive and foresaw how important R2-D2 was to returning balance to the force and blew its own motivator so that R2 would go with the Skywalkers instead. There was probably more backstory to it than that BBY (Before the Battle of Yavin)

Turns out it was force sensitive and saw a future where if R2-D2 isnt bought by the skywalkers the empire lasts forever and it blows itself up.
