During Club Competitions, your Club’s total amount of earned Creed Points will be added together and compared to five randomly-chosen rival Clubs. At the end of the Club Competition, the Club with the highest number of Creed Points will win the grand prize (free access to a Legendary piece of gear). Please note, in order to claim your individual prize, you must contribute at least 500 Creed Points to your Club’s victory. I think this also means that if you have something that gives bonus Creed points such as an upgraded legendary hood or finishing a bunch of Co-Op missions with Club members that'll get boosted as well.

Finished up Unity last night on PS4. The last boss fight was lame and not tense at all. Overall I thought it was all right, but it seems they were trying really hard to make Arno the new Ezio. Mechanics-wise, I still miss the weapon wheel and switching them on the fly. Fighting with dual hidden blades was always my favorite. Also, Arno can't whistle? What?

I just started playing Unity, but while the frame rate is more or less okay, the game keeps "skipping" every few seconds regardless of what's happening on-screen: it hangs whether I'm in cutscenes, walking around, or even just in menus, so that last one makes me think it's not a hardware issue on my end. I have a GTX770 if that helps. I ran a search on it last night, but all I got was reviewers complaining about how it wasn't optimized and people on forums cussing a lot. One of my hits had something about one of the settings (SSAO?) causing it, but the text wasn't in the link when I clicked on it.

So I think I downloaded the patch and installed it, but on the ps4 I just got to Paris. And dear lord, the crowd pop-in is awful. Its fine if I stroll around, but the second I start jogging whole crowd just pop in and out of existence. Particularly hilarious is how the game can't decide what model to get me - so I'll get a generic french dude in gray pants suddenly turn into a gaudy aristocratic woman in a bright red dress. The opening "chase" scene during adult Arno's intro had massive clipping - hard to take a big bloke yelling "you won't get away with this" when people are clipping right through him. Arno's ankle also tends to jut out in hilarious angles if I get near a bench or stool. And this is WITH the patch installed? It looks great in screenshots, but the second I start moving it falls apart. ETA: Oh my lawd, I just got past the hideous rip off of the scarecrow sequences in Arkham Asylum. This whole game is like stepping into an alternate universe where black flag never happened. I'm getting tons of glitches (some small, some large) in every mission. ----- Um, I just tried to do the first Paris Stories mission, with the jailer and a prisoner. And the entire cutscene had their clothes wildly flickering into existence. Did I even download the patch? I'm not being a smartass here, I'm legitimately wondering. And I concluded tonight's play session with the "graduation" mission. Which was terribly designed and the point where I got up, poured myself another beer, and immediately berated a friend for telling me the game was "not too terrible." To wit: - The broken stealth system, which removes whistling in favor of a cover system that would be clunky three years ago. - I start the mission with no smoke bombs, because who cares, right? The game cares. They care so much that the game instructs me to throw a smoke bomb at two enemies - which I can't do because I already used one they gave me when prompted. The game's solution? have my escort character run headfirst into a brawl that quickly becomes a ten man melee. Only upon restarting do I realize that throwing a smoke bomb triggers him to do his own "attack, smoke bomb ,attack" pathfinding. - Finally, I'm told to chase my escort through the streets. Okay, sure. It goes fine, except the game glitches again and he says his one line, something about running when I'm dead, over and over again. I must've heard it about twenty times. The game warns me every time I'm starting a new mission with a quick "high difficulty, do more missions" message that is highly misleading. Even ignoring the microtransactions and companion app nonsense, the interface is an inchoate mess. The combat somehow took the series' basic and dull combat and turned it into a slow, grinding slog that feels even more unresponsive than before. The developers are almost lucky that the technical side of the game is such a rolling clusterfuck. I actually don't mind a janky framerate, but the constant "pop" of the clothes is the most distracting common graphical glitch I've ever seen. And so I finally made my way to the next mission, the same setpiece shown in a demo a few months ago. And there are good ideas at play, with a more open-ended almost Hitmanesque sense of level design. But the stealth mechanics and parkour combine to infuriate, aided with a newly arbitrary sense of difficulty. --- I beat the setpiece. And I just realized how much the overall ease of difficulty often obscured how terrible so many of the undergirding AC mechanics are. Who cares if stealth is bad when you can massacre everyone around you in five seconds? Yeah, I'm done. I've played every major AC release since the series' inception, including Liberation and Rogue. I've beaten them all. I'm done with Unity. I expected a game on par with AC3 - deeply flawed and the victim of over-ambition. This is not that game. In the slightest. Nothing works, nothing speaks to each other, nothing functions with a modicum of competence.

I have fun with Unity but Christ Allmighty this is the worst case of npc and environment pop-in I've ever seen. Vanilla Rage has nothing on this. Like why did they make long streets if the game can't fully draw them? Why big crowds when the low quality textures kick in in very close proximity? I play this game on PC with ultra everything on a godly machine and this is ridiculous. I only hope there will be some mod that allows me to cranck up the draw distance or something.

Yeah same thing happening here. Input gets all screwy during a stutter so I gave up on playing the game. I think that's probably about it for me buying Ubisoft games.

Narcissus1916 posted:words I somehow managed to get through the game without any major graphical glitches, but I agree. They made the combat an absolute slog in the name of making it difficult, because they wanted to encourage stealth. And then the stealth is terrible. In a game that is literally about assassinating dudes, I should not have to sit here and regret buying a skill that lets me assassinate two dudes at once. But I did, because you can't low-profile double assassinate in Unity, and there are situations where you want to kill multiple guards in a stealthy manner and you basically just have to hope you get the position right to not trigger a double assassination by accident. The whole "last known position" thing worked reasonably even if it didn't do anything that hasn't been done a couple dozen times. Trying to use the cover system was an absolute nightmare, though. Why can't I round corners in cover? Why is it so hard to leave cover? Why does an open-world brawler/shooter from two years ago (Sleeping Dogs) handle cover better than what is ostensibly a game about stealth? It's especially irritating because the same company has a team that can do cover really well (Splinter Cell), so why couldn't they get that team to send the AC team a memo or something at least? I feel like the changes to the freerunning suggest that in another iteration or two it will be less poo poo than it has been, although things didn't turn out well for Unity. I like the idea of having "up" and "down" modifiers so that navigating is a bit more active than "hold a trigger and push the stick in the direction you're going", but there didn't always seem to be a consistent logic to how each freerunning mode behaved. In particular, I often tried to jump to one of those street-crossing ropes with the intention of climbing up on it, but every time Arno would treat it like a monkey bar and swing off of it. I feel like we'd be better served if the "up" modifier was always "climb poo poo" and bring back "tap x for a long jump". But after all of that, the thing that annoyed me the most in Unity is that I couldn't pick up brooms and beat people to death with them.

I've heard people saying playing in offline mode reduces the problem and it has worked for me so far, but still not eliminated it. I have my upgrade graphics card coming in a couple of days. I hope it will reduce this more, but reading feedback of those with ridiculous rigs it seems likely it won't. It just seems to be a problem with the game itself. Also seems NVIDIA has it worse than AMD? (I have NVIDIA)
