Weird, I didn't see a cutscene. It says it's installed, but I don't see anything by the shore either.

wait, just restarted my xbone and it is updating FH2, again.

I think the cutscene occurs the first time you click the new storm island tab in the menu or something. Idk I'm on drugs

I think it was more like 3 gigs total, that's what my download log seems to indicate.

The expansion is cool. Rally tires and stuff are back, you can turn your STi into a 4x4 dream again like FH1.

visibility can change... drastically

The island is very cool, it's like an offroad paradise, reminds me quite a lot of taking the jeep out around the backroads of arizona a number of years ago

Also, where is the barn and what is it? (please be a warthog) gently caress searching the whole island, I had enough trouble in those little circles and had to look a few of them up.

Storm Island is officially well worth the $10 if you have VIP.

I've only done a few of the championships, but so far the courses seem to have much more of a "flow" to them than the regular FH2 offroad events, and the cross country courses seem to be a lot better, since there are far fewer "shoot the gap between immovable objects" sections, and there fewer annoying sections that roll you over over if you hit them slightly wrong.

The only thing that's slightly disappointing is that the rally body kits seem to be limited to a very few cars. So far, I've seem them on the 2005 Subaru WRX, the 1992 Mitsubishi Galant, and the 1983 Audi Sport Quattro, but none of the other cars in the modern rally, 90's rally, or Group B monsters categories seem to have any extra body parts available, which is kind of odd, since quite a few of those cars competed in the WRC, and there's at least one (the Celica GT-Four) that had rally stuff available in Forza 5.

I was referring to the strictly cosmetic parts available in the "aero and appearance" category, not the suspension, tire and transmission upgrades that appear to be available to every car.

As an example, the Quattro now has "street" front bumpers, side skirts, rear bumpers, rear wings, and hoods that make it look like the Group B cars, and there are similar cosmetic updates for the other vehicles I mentioned. Turn 10 said that the body kits were available for certain "legendary" cars, so I'm wondering exactly which cars got those upgrades.

Does the Stadium Super Truck really have only three gears or is my game hosed up? Holy poo poo I just won it and drove it to the hub to look at the xmission settings. Three gears, set to a top speed of 119.6 MPH, which appears to be really hosed up.

I can't believe I beat that Gauntlet in this thing. I was trying to understand how a truck that's so light with such gigantic tires could be so hard to control.

I noticed last night the rally trans can raise the gear ratio for no real gain on some cars. Go into your tuning and lower the final drive ratio to below 4.0 to get your top speed back

Yeah. I'm not a big car guy as you know. I just like my pixel cars. Still, I would figure "one of the most requested cars" would equate to "a car that I've actually heard of."

Where is the team that made it based, if it's the UK that might explain it. I was kinda hoping it'd be the Pikes Peak thing that shows up in several of the Gran Tourismo games, or a VW Thing, give me a conversion to turn a bug into one and I'll be happy.

Playground Games is based in England. Turn 10 is based in the US. I do know the Forza games have a great presence in Europe, as most of the clubs with the fastest drivers are based in Europe (DTM, FRS, ONR, etc...) However, I was guessing the "most requested" thing would be based on the threads on the forzamotorsport.net forums where they always have "request a car" threads running.

The expansion sounds awesome, I think I'll try booting the game up again tomorrow to see if it will load...

Because it hasn't in weeks. It gets to the Press A to Start screen, hit the button, and... Loading Please Wait. I've left it for hours and it will not load. I tried using one of my friend's profiles who had a saved game... same result. I tried using another profile with no saved game... same result. I deleted and reinstalled the game, same results. Got the update and hoped it would be fixed... same results.

I had just gotten back to the game since being distracted by some other stuff, and was just a handful of races away from the second finale. I started having really long load times about a week before this started so I've just been waiting to see if poo poo worked itself out, but maybe I should contact support... I've definitely enjoyed the game so far but I do not want to have to rebuild my garage from scratch.

Have you tried restarting your console by holding the power button for 10 - 15 seconds, then booting up again? That has solved various bugs on the Bone for me.

I'm... not sure I have actually. I tried what I thought was a normal power off using the controller, as well as signing my profile out, and opening another game to make sure FH2 was no longer running (about the only thing Destiny is good for), but I don't think I tried that. I... rather doubt it will work, considering how long it's been an issue and my roommates using it as well, but worth a try. I probably should have thought of that, but a LOT of things on the Bone are not very intuitive at all (took me quite a while to find the stupid storage space manager).

Now that I have the Fanatec CSW v2, I'm selling my Thrustmaster TX, which is pretty much brand new. FH2 drives really well with a wheel, easily the best of any of the arcade-sims out there. Wheel also works with PC. Someone come buy it!

Well that fixed it. As if I don't tell people enough at work to turn it off and back on again...

The DLC seems alright... The offroad handling does feel better, but I still prefer roads. And I'm itching for some goon racing, I guess F5 is more of the destination for that than FH2?
