That tends to make it more funny than stomach-churning, most of the time. It's possible to laugh because he's such an idiot, and is making his point incompetently and without a shred of tact. When Ramirez knocks one out of the park (so to speak) there's nothing funny about it. It's just revolting.

Why have no previous Gay Abortions awards been made into a front page article? Seems like this is made for it.

Bob Gorrell is a nationally-syndicated editorial cartoonist distributed by Creators Syndicate. His work appears in USA Today, The New York Post, The Richmond Times-Dispatch and many other prominent print and online outlets, and he's a lazy gently caress.

12 days to a month Gorrell wants that 2015 award locked up on day 1 so he doesn't have to make any more comics the other 364 days

The thing is, without a priori knowledge of Ramirez's politics, I honestly can't come up with any reading of that comic except "Obama is cutting the US's comically bloated defence budget and putting that money into the social safety net; A Good Policy". It's not like beating swords into ploughshares is meant to be a bad thing. It really deserved that win in the AGC category.

I fervently wish that he lives to see a socialist America that his children worked towards. (I gave up ill will for the new year.)

But the protests this year really brought out his inner rear end in a top hat. It takes a lot to beat the McCoys at being petty bigots. Ramirez shills for whatever the right is saying at the time, which is frequently racism, but McCoy's caricatures are dripping with such genuine hate that I always think of him as "more" racist, which I suppose is a meaningless way to look at it anyway.

Ramirez also has the advantage of editing the rag he's published in. The rest of the contenders have to keep a certain (very low) level of obfuscation and artistic ability, while Ramirez wipes his rear end and publishes the result. It's how he always does so well in the Gaybortions.

I looked on his site and on Cagle and there's no sign of it having been created in 2015, either, so I don't think we can pin this one on him.
