The lighting is, to me, improved in places and it sounds great, but bear in mind I played the 2033 version years ago on 360 and I'm playing this on my PC set to full wow. The acid trip bit was ok, though not as good as similar moments in STALKER, but I thought the 'ghosts' chapter was cool, i turned away from a light source, could see shadows of a bunch of people on the ground but when I turned back there was nothing there. Lots of nice incidental touches like that.

There's alot of challenging stuff to do and the more you play the game the more poo poo it throws at you. It's one of those games where you never really have the same run twice and things can suddenly happen that change everything for better or for worse. It's a game that drives you forward just because your curious to see what the game will throw at you this time. It's a cool game. People can not like it I suppose but I find that there's alot there.

The lower floors can be brutal and once you unlock "everything is terrible" it get pretty hard. Then there's playing with the hidden characters to add even more challenge.

It was gonna start out as this small thing and by the time they wanted to make it more full, it was too late to really go back without throwing away quite a bit of work. It still was a game that ran terribly and there's no real excuse for that, but they at least had a reason.

Binding of Isaac is a really good roguelike game but it has a really divisive aesthetic. If it weren't for the excessive gore and toilet humor that makes up everything in it, I would recommend it more but I know it's not for everyone solely because of how it looks. Which is a shame because there's a ton of content in it and it's mostly all good. Solid game, terrible aesthetic basically.
