Maybe something to the dial itself?

Antigua is ugly but so are the murky surf, sludge and western tunes I'm going to be playing on the baritone. It fits. I'm also a sucker for ugly 60s/70s furniture and appliances so it tickles that part of my brain.

What brands should I look into for baritone strings that will fit the 30" scale? Probably keeping the A-A tuning. There aren't many on Amazon but I could always stick with the fenders if I like them (recently discovered that their strings are very good) or d'addarios. May be a good excuse to finally try La Bellas.

Alright, bit of a noob when it comes to setting up guitars properly here, but since I've changed strings a few weeks ago my D string has been buzzing when played open, but none of the others ones seem to be doing this, at least not as much, it can be faintly heard in the G string too.
What, if anything, do I need to adjust at this point?

Is this an electric guitar? If so, does it also make the buzz through the amp or only when unplugged? If it doesn't amplify, I say just leave it. If it does, you might have to look at your nut and make sure there's nothing wrong with the slot.

Yes, I probably should've clarified. It's electric, and it doesn't come through amplified.

I've only personally heard the Tele set, but from what I hear the Strat set is supposed to sound like a '63 set. Guess it depends on your tonal goals.

Also, strictly speaking I think you mean Wilde Pickups. There is a Bill Lawrence USA, but Bill Lawrence (now deceased) has not been associated with them for a long time and Wilde is the pickup shop he started himself.

Alright so despite the tone (hurr) of my last post here a few months back, I've been rapidly falling out of love with my current setup, which consists of an Ibanez Gio GSA60, EHX Metal Muff, Boss GE-7 EQ, and a Crate V18-112. It sounds the same as it ever has, but I just don't like the tone anymore. I'd like more versatility, and to be able to crank it up or play relatively quiet without changing the tone too much.

I just play alone in my room, mostly the stereotypical metal bands (Metallica, Judas Priest, etc). If I could replace one part of that setup to get big results, for under, say, $250, what would it be? I'm leaning towards the amp, as it just has no headroom, way too much bass even with the knob cranked way down, and just generally has kind of a muddy tone no matter what I do to it. I did replace the speaker a while back with a Celestion G12m, and it was a vast improvement at the time.

If you want variety get yourself a Multi FX/modelling amp , Either a ZoomG5 or Pod HD should be within your budget and you can probably get a Fender Mustang for a little more. I keep seeing the 11Rack recommended for around £/$300 which is a must buy if you can afford it. I don't see an FX loop listed in the Crate V18 but if you really want variety then modelling is the way to go. You might want to grab a Ground Loop transformer if you buy a unit that plugs into your current amp though.

Sounds like you just need to give the truss rod a tiny bit of relief. You're noticing on those strings because they're at the top of the radius, ie. closest to the frets. The tiniest amount of loosening should do it.

So far as cheap amps that sound good, I can't recommend the little Yamaha TH5/10 type series. They don't have a boatload of models like say, a Cube or a Pod, but the models that are there cover most of the bases, are adjustable via PC in the case of the TH10, and...yeah. I love mine. Fair bit of headroom on almost all the models but the modern high gain crazy metal, responds well to volume adjustments, and nicely lightweight. Main issue there might be is that they are kind of dinky in power, but it'd be plenty fine for a bedroom setup.

I just picked up a Fender Mustang I since my Microcube poo poo the bed. I will say I am really impressed especially, with the fender tones that it models, it also comes with a key for all the Amplitube Fender gear which is pretty cool. For under a hundred dollars I would say it might be my best value gear purchase ever. Also personally I feel this thing blows the Microcube away as far as modeling etc.

The Mustang series are really excellent and I think kind of underrated. Really knock on for emulating Fender amps and they can achieve really incredible results if one has a little patience to tweak the particular model they are on. It is a little bit of a shame that the stock presets are largely awful, awful sludgey metal garbage. Also the Mustang III gives you a display which saves plugging into a PC and is so drat loud I cannot bear to go past 3.5 without feeling like I am damaging my hearing.

Yeah with the Mustang series the key is plugging it into a computer and really tweaking the settings. There's no way an amp that cheap should sound that good.

It sounds dumb but rearranging where your amp is in your room and where you sit/stand in relation to it also has a noticeable effect. Also playing with earplugs all the way in, lightly in, and different style of earplugs can have a noticeable effect when playing at your normal volume.

Also tilting/elevating the amp is surprisingly effective. You can lose a lot of energy to the floor without realizing it. Getting an amp up on some sort of metal frame stand can make a world of difference.

How long can you leave the strings off a guitar before doing damage to it? Is it in the range of a few days or is it just don't leave them off for months?

I went to two techs (one a very well regarded one in NYC that took 2 hours to get to), spent countless time on forums, and even called the stupid company themselves. Apparently rattling is a thing with these guitars and being able to sit down on the couch and play unplugged without hearing it is simply asking too much. I am pretty disappointed right now, an awful ending to a 1.5 month odyssey.

I can relate. My IBJL Casino is one of the guitars I go back and forth on constantly. They're unique and have something special but they're noisy and temperamental like nothing else. Mine doesn't rattle much now with 11s but the pickup switch likes to act up a lot. In a way I should regret trading a really nice strat for one but at the same time it worked out for me and I don't hate the guitar. They are flat out weird though.

Any tips on setting guitar amp sound for two guitars?
I´ve played guitar in different bands for more than 15 years, but usually in trios where I´ve been the only one on guitar duty. In one of my punk rock bands where I used to play drums we´ve recently decided to include a new drummer, and have two guitars instead. I´ll be playing most of the lead parts, and our old guitarist will stick to rhythm.

We had our first rehearsal as a quartet yesterday, and of course the first play through sounded like poo poo because we were both playing way too loud and had the distortion cranked up all the way, out of habit.
After this, we dialed down both our master volumes, and I took the gain knob back a lot to get a more accented sound. This helped a lot, and we were both able to hear more of what we were playing. I also cranked the mid tone up to distinct my guitar from the other one, and he played a crunchy sound with more bottom.

How should we further separate the guitars and what are typical EQ settings for lead/rhythm in a dual guitar setup?

Listen to some live Grateful Dead for inspiration. Bobby (Rhythm) has a very scooped sound, with lots of high end, while Jerry (Lead) has a very mid heavy, honky, almost horn like sound.
