I don't mind DKR but it really doesn't make for a good race video with multiple people. 2 hrs of almost no commentary :|

This poster just flew all the way from Caketown just to make this post!

Now THAT'S desperate!
If anyone is wondering how this year is comparing with last year here's graphs of viewers and money raised for each event:

http://irc.alligatr.co.uk/agdq14/
http://irc.alligatr.co.uk/agdq15/

Notably, both viewers and donations are about double what they were last year, which is nuts.

So they've already broken the max viewer count from last year :psyduck:

They are amazingly transparent about where their money goes and over 75% of their budget going to program expenses is still pretty good.

They are a good charity bro.

Yeah, several Japanese runners got their expenses paid by the JRTA marathon a few months ago. Ohon is also gonna be there, playing MM5 and CV3, and he's an absurdly good player.

Well I guess that being posted on Humble Bundle on the first day instead of halfway through is gonna help this year. Also Humble have grown so much last year it's crazy.

I remember MMX1 race between Zewing and Caleb was pretty good about commentary just between the two of them.

I think this is where I turn it off, until tasbot fails spectacularly for dumb and predictable reasons again.

And somehow they put it directly after Banjo, which is a nice 5 hour block of lovely boring collectathons.

And ten minutes into a two hour race, one racer is a minute behind with effectively no chance to catch up.

Weird that the goal is only $500,000. I guess they figured last year was a fluke.

Always better to set the goal low and obliterate it than to set it too high and miss it.

They always do this. They start their goal somewhere manageable and low and raise it as each one is crossed.

DKR is the kind of game where you are mostly hitting boosts and missing just one can cost you seconds. A comeback isn't that unlikely.

runner commentary is actually time-sensitive and it's not like people are gonna withdraw their donations just because their comment wasn't read, so i give more of a gently caress about what runners have to say.
