Brut is great, we throw Roller Mobster on as loud as possible so often... One of those layered tracks that just sounds awesome the louder it's played. The waveform is so brick walled it's hilarious. Showed it to a friend who's a professional production/mastering guy who says there's no reason for it to be like that at all. I guess Brut just does it for his own enjoyment.

I think Hang 'em All is my favorite EP II track. The way the song re-arranges itself after the breakdown and re-builds into a whole new kind of intensity is so loving cool. Roller Mobster is the perfect opener to that EP but Hang 'Em All is a better closer, I think.

It all started when I posted the cover for the first volume. It kinda snowballed into a big weekend long joke where we released the first two volumes. We were kinda satirizing the whole scene. Making fun of all the cliches and tropes.

I think the Bandcamp email saying it was live getting to me just after I went to bed was definitely a spiteful move. But it means I get to spend the morning blasting out I and II at sickening volume before III starts, and I can't wait until it kicks in. Have only seen the preview video and heard the track he released the other week so far. Can't wait for the vinyl to come in, hopefully it won't be too horrendous a price. Looking forward to listening to it as well because it's going to have to be completely remastered for vinyl... the waveforms for the digital ones are completely brick walled. There's just no dynamic range to it whatsoever. So whether it'll sound better or worse, I can't say, but it's likely to sound different at the very least. Can't loving wait.

Division Ruine is so insanely good and Paradise Warfare too. I like all of EP III pretty good but I think Invasion AD is my least favorite. Paradise Warfare was daring me to skip it in the intro but it turns into something loving magical.

Yeah Paradise Warfare sounds like a rehash of "Looking for Tracy Tzu" at first, then goes somewhere else. I just hope the guy who created the "Le Perv" video does some more of his magic, that was my fav music video of last year. BTW anyone posted the link to Anarchy Road yet? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YgK0uRR5jGY

I remember this thread back when it was in the games subforum, its still just as good here. Anyone know of some good spotify playlists for this stuff? The ones I can find kinda suck, the curators either only have a few songs, or they just mass add entire albums. Here are a few I did not see posted. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QXhHltcZAgw https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mrUsbJWkHd0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JZTQCkBJpog I also think these next 2 guys have some stuff that is on the fringes of the genre, I see it as what happens when you take a similar sound but stop trying to emulate the 80's with it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rAeMhNB28A4 This video is also amazing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HMcz1Cva5vk Have this too. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wlh8jC9dq7o eSporks fucked around with this message at 07:52 on Jan 25, 2015 |

Haven't checked this thread in a while and it's good to see it's still as good as ever yo EP III owned (though I kinda prefer I still, it'll grow on me probably), I'm waitin' for Carpenter's Lost Themes like hell, and I discovered a shitload of ace stuff: https://soundcloud.com/johnnyjewel/johnny-jewel-the-other-side-of-midnight feelin' up for something ominous and synth-ambienty? the male half of Glass Candy put this excellent... album I guess? out, it's perfect for snowy days https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ltO6IZmDCN0 Nightvoid sounds like a theme to an 80s cop movie, in a good way https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f2DMox5VuJc very cool remix of a synthpop song, actually prefer it to the original http://sauroid.bandcamp.com/album/escape-from-earth Favorite album for studying, hella clean synth sound - The Quiet Earth's probably my favorite (Barrandon also released a few other albums, including the completely different The New Born Between Mountain And Sea, which is also great although way more chilled out and ambienty) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XuHa_WffHWo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=exgMW_ZaORI ...and I've rediscovered my love for the Cold In July soundtrack. (go watch that movie) oh and for the dude asking about Spotify playlists I'm just gonna shamelessly pimp my own : http://open.spotify.com/user/m.ciaster/playlist/1hexzh4hVkzjoT7jJ5rzoR http://open.spotify.com/user/m.ciaster/playlist/6AOJfCtcyS8JVWs5yCBnvz
