Oh yes, it's a deal for a Porche

http://www.kijiji.ca/v-cars-trucks/edmonton/porche-924-in-running-condition-for-sale/1012837380?enableSearchNavigationFlag=true

quote:

The porche is in good running condition. It will need a windshield as this one is cracked. Windshield cost is $299 at any glass shop and that includes installation. I just replaced the Battery and installed a new starter. Car runs and moves. Car belonged to my 14yr old son until he screwed up for the last time and no longer owns this porche. I took it back to prove a point. Car is worth more than I'm asking. I just need to get it out of my yard. These are the only photos I have of the car.
I just replaced Plug wires, spark plugs, disturbed cap and rotor, all vac lines, and new oil and filter. Need a heater blower fan as some blades are missing and there is a noisy vibration from the unbalanced fan.

engine is a 4 cylinder 121cid.

These are the original kms. This car is not mint but is in good overall condition.
I too would love an old "Porche" that previously owned by a 14 year old that continually fucks up so bad his dad takes his car away and "runs and moves" as its major selling point.

I'm trying to figure out where that 50k went in the car. Even including the sale price, I still don't see where 20k went in it. At 66k miles and an average of 20mpg (low estimate) he couldn't have even spent that much on gas.

There was a fad of retro front end conversion kits in the 90s. I seem to recall 10th gen T-Birds to be the chassis of "choice" (or victims) for the monstrosities. Even Corvettes weren't spared.

As a person that lived in GP for many, many years, that more chronic in Northern Alberta. Of course we get over priced poo poo in the far south too, but in general cars/bikes are at least quasi realistic down here compared to North of Red Deer for some reason.

WUT.
What's the guideline for how much of the car has to go along with the VIN plate for it to be considered the same car, anyway? Obviously you can't drill the VIN plate off and install it on another car, but you can replace about half the car without any legal trouble. If the entire piece that the VIN plate is attached to is intact that sounds like fair game to me. How much of the original car do restorers have to keep?
