Hype is funny in fighting games because its like you say it occasionally and you don't say it like a bad family guy sketch, also only the announcer says it, and the thing is they're actually hype as gently caress. Also anyone else only catch the stream chat to catch the deeply rooted irony of people calling the players nerds. When they are the ones who are spending nearly 8 hours of their day watching other nerds play games quickly and posting in a chat that no one reads or has an original idea in. But then you go deeper and consider I'm skimming it on occasion, but then I see something stupid and just minimize both side bars. Also they should tone it down on games that take over an hour and begin set up on an opposite set up within 5 minutes of time on the last game being streamed.

Depends on the game, most are fine with it if you use the right version of the game/emulator, but many tricks in, say, OoT work way better on the original console due to deadzone and such.

Basically, if everything you do can be done on a real console with the same results, then whatever. But slowdown where a console would have none, odd visual or sound glitches, and of course anything that affects how the game plays are all factors that lead to people preferring consoles over emulation.

Unless a game or an emulator has some terrible emulation or unfair advantage through emulation most people don't care. Lots of people at the very least practice poo poo on emulators for obvious ease of use reasons. You can even race most games on SRL on emulator with people not really caring although they'll probably want you to stream in that case so you can show you're not using speed up or savestates.
