Does anyone else really regret buying a case with a side window?
Side windows were cool in high school and to a lesser extent college, but I actively don't want one in any computer going forward.

It's also possible they were the result of the late 90s/early 00s zeitgeist and their time has simply come and gone.

I don't regret the side window on my case, but I regret the fact that I bought one that came with LED fans. My next case will probably be a fractal, because ideally my computer these days would actually absorb light and sound.

I love my current case, CM stacker. But after building a few systems for friends that used Fractal cases I really really want one for myself. They are just so clean, and pretty much every thing I could want in a computer case.

As long as you don't buy gaudy fans with bright spinning/blinking LEDs or other terrible mismatched lighting type stuff having a side window can actually be pretty nice. Especially if you spend time cable managing your build properly so that everything looks clean and even more so if you have a custom watercooling loop. No one likes bright LEDs flashing in their face but having a side window to occasionally peak into and admire your handy work is very nice. Neither of these are mine but here are a few examples that are subtle, clean and very well built.

So far it's nice however I wasn't the one who that shoved all the power supply cables in it. I think I should have gone with black though.

When I was in high school I had a huge case with a gigantic window.
When I was in College I had a medium case with no window.
Now as a adult I have a small case with no window.

As a teenager in high school my son has a huge case with a gigantic window.
As a senior he is looking into a medium case with no window.

I see a trend going on here. :v:

:psyduck: I just had a flashback to helping my dad set up his shuttle PC last month, several days after I had just built my medium sized desktop (no window). I had a huge case with gigantic window in high school.

One hat was for use with a halloween costume, another for use on a Christmas crawl. The last is just a cubs hat -- which is the only one I'd actually wear.

Those legs look like the cheap/sturdy ikea ADILS. Are they? And what's the top?

I'm pondering selling the desk I have and getting a bekant, or a motorized base with a similar looking top to yours. I like the under frame.

Legs are some cheapo IKEA legs I bought a few years ago. I actually made the top myself out of plywood and some hardwood boards I got at Home Depot.

Pretty much. Those Metal Cordies are $5, but a used docking station for a business-grade laptop would have been $10-20.
