I dunno what just doesnt work but Mata alternates between 5 minutes of really good passing and 5 minutes of just conceeding possession, Rooney tries the same ball every single time and the wingers aren't putting the ball in the box properly.

Everything Rooney does in terms of passing is completely predictable, especially that loving cross towards the right wing. IMO he should be played as a 9 or not at all.
