Achilles took a few changes too, here's a list for those curious.

Gained Kinematika L2.
Lost both Shotgun profiles.
Lost 4 CC.
Lost 1 PH.
Lost 1 ARM.
Multi Rifle profiles went down 7pts.
Spitfire profiles went down 5pts.

He had it coming admittedly when the Cutter and Avatar took a hit but he's still very, very good.

Does greyed out text mean something (assuming deleted profiles) or is it a formatting error? a number of Ariadna entries are greyed out. Most significant changes were mostly CC bumps on the Cateran, Wulvers and Cameronians. Cameronians went up 1 point though, only thing I can think of is grenade changes combined with phys 16. Or revaluation of certain ability costs. Weirdest of all Chasseurs got buffed without a points increase, they all have Multiterran now. I really thought they would take a hit. Virtually everything else is 1-5 points cheaper. Guess Now just waiting on rules for certain things

Which will only make their shelf-warmer status permanent. No developed deployment? 14 pts for a basic troop when Unidrons and 14pt Vanguards exist? Nerf to Spawn Embryo? Haha, gently caress no.

Also, :wtc: at no shotgun LT Aswang loadout. We've been missing the single most important model and best LT in sectorial for years, get another one (spitfire) in the meantime, one would think that making a new loadout is a no-brainer. Apparently CB doesn't.

Still, there's a fuckton of changes for the better*, many sub-par profiles were recosted/rebalanced. I'll have to relearn list building.

Well, I am writing some CC army lists now [I do not seriously believe this to be a good idea]!

I think the changes to Corregidor were pretty restrained. Minor points drops mostly. Jaguars AVA 5 and linkable is probably the biggest change, but AVA3 bandits is nice for infiltration specialists. On the mercenary front, glad to see everyone we have get cheaper, but even now Senor Massacre is probably a poor buy compared to Mcmurrough (or 2 jaguars and change) and Valerya Gromoz, while a personal favourite of mine, doesn't really bring anything special except a marker, which is admittedly a good upgrade.

I feel like the stuff we had really going for us stayed stronger, and we have the chance to really play some warband shenanigans now.

Everyone got cheaper combat remotes, but I do really like the Nomad ones and Corregidor gives them AVA2 across the board.

There's a lot of stuff I'm glad got slightly cheaper, but isn't that sort of a false joy? I mean if everything in the game got cheaper, that just means games will be slightly higher model count or more elite, right?

(still feels good though - wildcat HRL dropped 11 points, link team of firey death, here I come)

He's very good, and utterly not worth his points anymore. In a meta of 22-point haramakis, paying 75+ to bring a single guy that has +1 BS, Phys and ARM over the cheap dude is pointless.

At least now that he has ARM 4 people should stop the "ALEPH doesn't need another TAG! They have Achilles!" derp.

I sort of am a really big fan of the ZUYONG~ heavy infantry models, is it viable to use those as a core to play the game from? I noticed they aren't resplendent in special rules and I'm wondering if that's going to be unviable?

also: It seems like literally right now was the best time to get into the game.

Zuyong are your basic workhorse HI. They do nothing spectactular, they're just your basic grunt given power armor and an extra wound. Use them as tough specialists (FO) or basic fire platforms (HMG), supported by lighter units. They should be linkable in the sectorial that comes in the next expansion, but it's still like a year away.

Also, look into Yan Huos (Zuyongs with TAG weapons and a non-ugly helmet). The first one should come out next month.

Here, have three Haramakis. Less than his cost, linked together for +1 burst and Sixth Sense, twice as many wounds, CC 23, 14 PH, ARM 3, can still take cover after a kill, and can even pack a B2 missile launcher to be truly multi-threat.

Or if you don't like links, bring two Hospitalers. 1 more wound, BS 14, same BTS and armor, religious, better ranged weapon loadout.

Frankly, anything that moves further than 8" per order ought to be inefficient stat-wise because it heavily extends your threat bubble. You gotta pay for that alpha.

If that's the goal, I don't see it being consistent...or there at all. The Maguariba Guard is really fast and quite stat-efficient, and also cheap. The new 4-4 HI link teams can deliver -far- more devastating Alphas than any one-model Rambo ever could, with greater order efficiency and generating less AROs.

HI link teams may move more models, but they don't extend the actual range. Indeed, they actually add some movement restrictions.

TAGs have almost universally (wtf 6-6 TO Spitfire Sphinx) been nerfed in close quarters fighting, whether by HMG range band nerfs or loss of template weapons, so their rambo potential is much lower.

I think they are trying to encourage the Infantry + Tanks approach.

Tags are there to do the assaulting of defended positions, and infantry need to be deployed to protect their flanks and such.

As opposed to a Cutter/Avatar/Achilles just stomping up and going to town solo. They still can. But it will prolly be in turn three after two turns of maneuvering their support into position.

Not range, but order efficiency. Before, it took me 4 orders to bring my heavy guy 24 inches, or into the enemy deploy. Now it costs 3, and when linked, those orders mean 3-5 dudes there to party as well.

And oddly enough, it seems that many TAGs kept their short-range weapons. Even cheap ones like the Iguana and the O-Yoroi still pack heavy flamethrowers. But the HMG change is so, so welcome.

Right, and I'm saying that they're trying to nerf rambo range specifically. I'm surprised at the number of durable rambo platforms they've left with minimal changes (again, the Sphinx jumps out at me) but I feel like that's what they're aiming for.

And however efficient a link team may be, and they certainly are barring drastic rule changes (which I don't see happening after how conservative CB has been with profile changes), impact templates are super efficient against them.
