NOA is dumb and doesn't list their sales directly, so go here in a few hours for all the NA discounts that they didn't mention or haven't refreshed yet: http://www.nintendo.com/eshop/offers NA is supposed to be getting a similar indie circlejerk promotion to PAL-land, for example, but the PR doesn't mention the games or the prices...

Just to reiterate: downloaded Wii games only support gamepad controls if the game originally supported the Classic Controller, so you won't be able to play SMG2 or many other future releases without a Wiimote and/or Nunchuk.. Next week's Wii downloads are Punch-Out (NA) / DKC Returns (PAL), with Metroid Prime Trilogy coming a week later, and they'll all be receiving the same half-price launch discount.

Those first-party NA sales are part of a "throwback" promo they're doing for the next few weeks where they discount games in pairs; this week it's two 3D Mario games, two Yoshi games and the two Pushmo games (Pushmo? Throwback?). I guess you can expect Punch-Out and Metroid sales in the coming weeks, at the very least.

3D Afterburner 2 owns, all those VC games own, quit talking poo poo about Street Fighter 2010.,

Just a heads-up: Pushmo World is listed at $7.49 on the NA eShop, not $4.99.

And I am mad jealous that you guys in PAL Land got another indie connection sale.

If you own a Wii U, don't have Super Mario 3D World and you don't pick it up this week, you're a chump. Looks like I'm losing another $6 for Yoshi's Island this week. I would pick up SMG2, but I bought it a couple months ago on disc. Can't wait for Metroid Prime Trilogy though.

And I don't see it said very often, but PaletteSwappedNinja, I very much appreciate you posting these every week.

I take that back, we're also getting the same sale. Though it seems like not all the games are quite 60% off? And Guacamelee is considerably more than 60% off - it's roughly 75-ish% off.

It's not bad. It has really interesting battle mechanics (9-person party with position-based bonuses). On the other hand, every single dungeon in the game is randomly generated. I'd get it.

They add a few different types of blocks/gadgets, but it's basically a hi-def level pack. Which can be a good or bad thing, depending on how much more Pushmo you want to play.

There's also a global thing where you can go online and download puzzles other people have made.

It's not a straight port; there are new puzzles and I think a new mechanic or two in the later portions.

It's mostly new puzzles with repeats being slightly changed. What more do you really need?

Is there a recommended place online to get Nintendo bucks that will email me the code? Or am I just better served to find a 7-11.

I try not to use my credit card directly on the store after all the Sony business from a few years back and getting my Live account hacked and stuff.

If it puts you any more at ease, Nintendo gives you the option to not have your card details remembered.

I don't know where to buy eshop codes digitally but on Nintendo's site if you go to the pages for some games you can buy codes for individual games digitally.

Also Nintendo credit card info is not likely to prove unsafe since even if you store your credit card it's not like someone can just casually sign into your NNID on their console. Nintendo's current account system for any inconveniences it does have proves surprisingly safe in that way.

Strange, I thought Street Fighter 2010 was already on the Wii U.

Oh well, I bought SMG 2 yesterday so I don't really have any open money for other games this week anyway. Like how you've split Wii Classics from Virtual Console. Makes it less confusing.

I'm going to have to disagree with you there; I think that Runner 2 is great. The first one was decent, but the second one is better in every way and Charles Martinet, the voice of Mario and Luigi, does the narration. I have it on Steam, but it's such a nice-looking game that I'm thinking about buying Swords and Soldiers, a game I don't really care about, for $3 so that I can save $9 on Runner and play it on my HD telly. I would not be surprised if they put S&S on that sale for $2.99 expressly so that people would buy it to save more money on other games included in the promotion.

I'm not interested in Galaxy 2 or Punch-Out! as I have them on Wii disc, but I hope that Prime Trilogy isn't too expensive. I actually bought a disc copy of that collection for $45 back in early December, and when I found out about this release I returned it to GameStop just before the 15 January holiday return deadline so that I could get my money back and buy it for less later this month. I'm a little scared on the price, though... I hope that it's $29.99 base price at most so that I can get it for $15 during the first week when it's half off. The clerk at GameStop knew exactly what I was up to; didn't give a poo poo. Hooray for manipulating the system!

I'm going to have to disagree with you there; I think that Runner 2 is great.
I mean, yeah, Runner 2 is better than the original in every way, but it still astounds me how they have all these great options for instrumentation, base their game around music and melodic stingers, and still make such a boring, same-y soundtrack. There are some really neat mechanics at play, but levels don't really differ a whole lot, and new gimmicks are introduced so slowly that they start to get tiring before you ever get to the next one. I suppose I'm just not a fan of endless-runner-type games, though.

All that said, already owning Runner 2 means that I can get Guacamelee STCE for very cheap. So I probably will.

Calm down, it's going to be 10 bucks during the first week.
