Thanks for the advice dudes. I am definitely leaning towards YJ or PanO because HI are loving cool. So are TAGS. PanO has cooler looking TAGs and YJ has cooler looking HI. poo poo.

I really want to run wild on some fools with a full Suryat link. Morats have been getting lots of model love with the release schedule so I hope we get a unit box of em. Actually, seeing a unit box for HI besides PanO knights would be great.

On a bit of a painting kick from some unrelated models so thought I may as well get some of my Shasvastii done. Any opinions on how they've changed for n3? Not familiar enough with their old profiles to tell if there were any clear winnrs or losers.

N3 winners: Gwailos (BS buff, multi buff, HRL discount, everything cheaper), Speculo (shotgun loadout), Haiduk (way cheaper), M/T-Drones (cheaper, more useful), Medtech (more convenient 25mm base), Sphinx (apparently stronger with Stealth and FTF flamers?) N3 losers: QQ-Drones (lost mines), Sheskiin (loses nanoscreen cover when impetuous), Aswang (internal synergy worse in N3, Dogged not healing), Seed-Soldiers (not improved = still poo poo) Everything else stayed more or less the same.

I should really take a look at the Haqq list when I get home tonight. It'll be interesting to see how they've changed beyond light shotguns turning into something you'll actually use rather than a small point penalty.

In four years of running this, there's inevitably at least five tables that don't comprehend that "Each model can carry ONE Tesseum, except Specialists, who can carry two!" It seems pretty explanatory.

I remember last year (might've been year before?) we had someone who thought Minelayer meant he could throw mines 8 inches, speculatively. I still don't understand where he had gotten that from, nor did he know about the 3 carry limit on equipment, I dread to think what things were like where he played. Yeah, it takes for-loving-ever to load compared to the old one and each individual picture lacks labeling so good luck if you're looking for a particular unit. It's terrible.

Hey, the Avatar lost it's Heavy Grenade Launcher. Well that's a step in the right direction. The Multi-HMG is still nasty, but at least he can't just sit back and bombard everything in sight from his own deployment zone.

DJ Dizzy posted:Whats actually the difference between combirifle and normal rifle? The Combi is +3 to hit at 0-8" while the regular Rifle is at +0 in that range bracket. If you mean thematically, I don't really know. I assume it's more compact, being built with more advanced materials and processes.

Corbeau posted:The Combi is +3 to hit at 0-8" while the regular Rifle is at +0 in that range bracket. The fluff says it has improved recoil and shot optimization, improving it a short range. I thought in 2nd ed fluff it had a computer that made it act more like a shotgun at short range, hence it's short range bonus.

What could they change about the Shasvastii Seed-Embryo deployment thing that would make it not bad? I did not notice any rules for it in the main N3 rulebook so I guess it was in one of the later books? Hope the FAQ they drop makes SE rule not such a disadvantage because I really want to start a Shasvastii army to go along with my Morats.
