Thank the tester for finally reading the notes and using my login credentials. :v:

Also, my expectations are really low for the presentation today, so hopefully that will help elevate me from disappointment to mild interest.

I was just about to post that.

I think they also previously talked about wanting IP phone services to integrate with the phone app. I think that's coming too, now.

Given that things run on WinRT now, I suppose not dealing with an rear end backwards restricted runtime makes implementation of third party services way easier.

So showing outlook, it uses Word as a backend for making emails. I so hope they give API access for that.

Same goes to the list views here. If this is all custom I'm going to be pissed.

Showing the early builds of the WinRT apps, the trend I notice is usage of more iconography and different shades of the accent color, as well as other colors. I guess things will finally look less drab. Also, the app title style changed from these idioticly huge ones to subtler ones with their own title bar shade.

--edit: Jesus, the photo app is MSR PhotoTriage... Implemented ten years late.

Interesting. In the meantime I've started using the free music app "AV Cloud". It's very professionally written. And it supports a folder-based view of my OneDrive, and can play directly from OneDrive.

Holy poo poo, just absorbed all the info I could about Windows 10. My PC is still on Win7 64 because I had no real reasons to use Win 8.1. Cortana, game streaming, universal apps, and all that new stuff just sold me. Just bring in faster phone updates and I'll say goodbye to android.

Exactly which bit of the transcript are you referring to? I didn't see anything that hinted towards your conclusion...

edit: I see only this sentence "Apps need to be tailored on each universal platform, of course, but there's huge code commonality." Well that's true even of iOS (universal binary between iPhone and iPad) and Android (universal binary between different form factors and different versions of the OS).
