Three-Phase posted:There was a bizzare video from Russia, the Ukraine, or some other Slavic area that showed two extremely drunk men fighting, and then one of them tries to help the really badly hurt other guy and tries to wipe the blood off his face, and even threatens to punch him again when he resists. It's one of the most sad/hillarious videos I've ever seen in my life and now I can't find it. At one point one falls over and slams his face right into the wall of a building. This isn't the video you're talking about, but it reminded me of this. I don't think I got this from this thread... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HlFyz0Rp994 Also I can't even imagine being this drunk and not unconscious/dead.

Russias propaganda machine is working well. It's hard to compare, but allowing small flaws to come through might even work better than, say, North Korea's propaganda that tries to show the great leader as a perfect flawless being (who does poop, according to that horrible Seth Rogen movie).

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=47VQeUO_BJ0 Also lmao at the guy who thinks there are "candid" shots of Putin. He has an intensely managed image and a dedicated PR team (like all major world leaders). Add to that total state control of all media and I guarantee there's not been a candid shot of Putin in the last 10 years.

More likely, the genes that drive tame behaviour happen to lie close to those for certain appearance traits, so they just come along for the ride.

Kikka posted:his strength is uniting the people to war. his flaw is destroying his country Much of Putin's success as a leader is carefully cultivating a media image and cult of personality. It's why Russians cheered during the takeover of Crimea, even though in the long run it's leading to economic devastation for Russia.

I visited Moscow when it was still the USSR. On the first day my buddy and I were leaving the hotel we'd just checked into to walk to catch a bus and this Gypsy woman with 8 kids outside the hotel spotted us walking out. She yelled something to the kids and all of a sudden we had a swarm of kids around us grabbing at our backpacks and trying to get into our pockets. We ended up having to like whirl around in circles with our backpacks to fend them off. Then a few hours later we went to Red Square and two guys and a girl walked past us and one of the guys looked at us and whistled and went "Tsk tsk. Boys boys boys!".
